I was not expecting such gesture from Branko, I mean out of all PGL coaches, it had to be him to criticize CQ for this? What makes it even worse is how he presented his objection via media and to the public. CQ had months ago submitted his plans to IFF and it was all agreed upon. The irony is that this time the harsh critic came from his own peer (A reputable foreign coach)

Yes I do agree that CQ may be a bit harsh with his comments, but he has had enough within the past 4 years in the country. It's absolutely frustrating for any professional to work with these people in charge in Iran. He just doesn't hold back anymore and says what's on his mind out loud, and that is how it should be in Iran!

Reading through the comments here, we have to pick our nose as well. Whenever someone says or does something we do not agree with we start to completely attack his whole life, career, resume... everything that comes into our mind, completely forgetting what the main topic actually is about. These irrelevant attacks won’t do us a favor and will only add fuel to the fire.

Let’s stick to the main point please. What happened 2006 is irrelevant, that was 10 years ago and coaches can learn from their mistakes. Fact is Branko did a fantastic job last season with Perspolis, so all those questioning his coaching abilities are wasting their time. Don't even want to mention the usual fairy stories about Karimi.

Points are:
1. Branko reacted way too late + he should have talked to CQ personally.
2. CQ was not the one who picked up the fight, actually he never does. It was Branko and CQ just doesn’t take shit from him or all the others dudes in the federation. Some say he should ignore everything, but that would actually make things worse
3. TM >>> Clubs - TM coach demands should be the priority, especially someone like CQ who is the most football educated person in the entire country and surely knows what we need to prepare for the WC.
4. Karimi has no business here.
5. If you think this is a sorkhabi problem you are fooling yourself. It’s just that others don’t have the same amount of fans, our fan culture as a whole is messed up - there is barely difference between the fans from each club.


All in all I don’t want to come up with conspiracy theories, but I feel like all this is a well planned campaign to hurt TM. The last years it was Esteghlal vs. CQ with likes of Rahmati, Ghale, Mazloumi...but they realized it was not enough and CQ's popularity remained strong. This time around SS is suddenly pro-CQ and Perspolis is going against him - and honestly this time I really worry because Perspolis has the strongest fan base, not even SS have so much influence and power. It’s just very strange and fishy to see Branko and Karimi suddenly out of nowhere coming up with anti-CQ comments. Karimi supported CQ all the times, while this was Branko said after the last IPL game:

Honestly coaches play a huge role in this regard, Esteghlal's feud with CQ the previous years were caused by their ignorant coaches at the time (GN and Mazloomi), the only reason Esteghlal's good terms with CQ this season is Mansoorian who has always had great ties with CQ, for I salute him, same applies to Veisi and a few other domestic coaches.

Branko shouldn't have started this verbal fight with CQ, and more importantly the club management should not have let him initiate such unnecessary comments leading to a verbal altercation between him and TM coach, but unfortunately I am certain that Perspolis club were behind all this and perhaps ignited the whole thing.

TM for all of us is beyond and above every single club, including our favorite clubs. We're all tired of bowing out of every single football tournament without a single title and notable achievement. Its about time that a gutsy and courageous coach take helm of one of our teams and fight his way all the way to that one goal (achieving the goal)

Therefore with all due respect and love I have for Branko, he shall keep quiet and refrain from employing the typical Iranian trouble making. In Persian we have a saying (Tafreghe bendaaz, hokoomat kon) and this is exactly what those who fear our success and unity do to keep us from national jubilation!

Once again they took a crap and dumped in on CQ's lap, only this time via Branko. They did not use the usual suspects (GN, MK and etc...) and wanted to deliver a new blow to CQ and TM by using Branko's popularity and added Karimi to the mix since he is loved by many. Who knows if they promised him the TM job or not.
The haters keep upping their game and they are getting uglier and more ruthless by using PP fans without having any shame or even caring about TM and its honor.
CQ has to be very careful and not fall for this.

The "Usual suspect" is the term to describe these various waves of fiascos created by the Sports ministry and co. They do their best to cause chaos surrounding TM and its camps, they will keep this going until CF gets Fed up and voluntarily quits.

Team Melli consists of a good amount of Persepolis players, and having two of their coaches going back and forth leaves an unhealthy atmosphere for our national team.

That's what I am thinking too. I don't think this is an isolated, one on one, man to man conflict between CQ and br-AN-G0H for two reasons; first, br-AN-G0H is a tarsoo that has no balls. Second, br-AN-G0H isn't that stupid to personally take on someone of CQ's stature ..... well actually, he is pretty stupid (if he wasn't stupid, he wouldn't have gotten fired by four different crappy club tems in the four years, '09-'13, preceding his return to Iran ). He certainly knows who Carlos is, and he would never dare start anything with CQ on his own ..... UNLESS he has the backing and support from some powerful people at the top, within the federation as well as the sports ministry who remain fiercely anti-CQ, along with the usual shady suspects (Houman Afazeli, Mayeli Divooneh, etc.) who are combining their treacherous efforts to sabotage TM at a sensitive time. This looks like a pre-orchestrated plot.

as far as CQ's response to Branko, I have to say that I have read it and read it carefully, and I found his response to be derogatory and out of line!
I am one of the biggest CQ's supporters on this site. my posts are my proof. so please spare me the Perspolis/branko fan bullshit!!

The way I see it, this is not about football. and most definitely not about this nationalism versus club crap that some of you are trying so hard to make out to be.


this is about knowing how to keep your anger under control when you are paid to be a professional. This is the same anger that brought Carlos one game suspension in the last WCQ.

Carlos Qeiroz was not acting in a professional manor when he called another fellow coach "snake".
Instead of being so over sarcastic and down right insulting he could have simply explained his reasons for his plans, and in clever (even sarcastic way) prove Branko wrong and trusted that the fans can think about it and judge for themselves!!!! But instead, He just came out angry with his poorly written post calling Branko and the people around him snakes.. more direct insults to the people around branko.

Call it for what it is and let's move on.
I still love and respect CQ and I couldn't be happier for my beloved Perspolis team to have a coach like Branko,

I actually think this clip here shows how great of a man Ali Karimi is. He calls it for what he sees it..
he finds branko to be on the right side of THIS argument and therefore came out supporting him.. he feels that CQ is wrong for using those words and he isn't afraid to speak his mind.
