yeah I would be very confident in rostov winning the game if not for zlatan. But then again they did manage to keep lewandowski quiet in the 3-2...

Many of them were playing in the Bundesliga, let alone in the Russian or the Greek leagues. We didn't even make it to the WC! Back in 2006, we didn't have players in Rostov, Olympiacos or AZ but they were playing in Bayern Munich, Hamburg, Hannover, Kaiserslautern and Messina in Serie A! Not only we didn't make it to the second round, we came back as the last team in the group with our tails between our legs. Our best performance was in the WC 2014 where we had only Dejagah playing in the premier league and Gucci playing in the Belgian pro league. Shojaei was playing in a weak segunda team (Las palmas), Haghighi was playing in the second division (or was it even third) of Portugal. The rest of our players were playing in either the PGL or in the Arab leagues. We had CQ and we still didn't manage to make it to the second round!

The European experience is good but based on history, it doesn't automatically lead to a second WC round qualification. What is really needed for that, is a very good preparation! "QUALITY FRIENDLY GAMES", dedication of the players, Solidarity and unity of the team and the whole nation (no fights between coaches or media or players), enough training time and having discipline to the max! Only then we can have a chance! Otherwise it doesn't matter if we have 11 players playing in Barcelona and Real Madrid!
What you're saying is very true from a lot of aspects. One you that you didn't touch on though is that a lot of our players in Europe right now (Sardar, Jahanbakhsh, Shekari?, Ali Karimi, Ezatollahi, Mohammadi) have started playing in Europe at a very young age. Much younger than the likes of Daie who's proffesional careers hadn't even started in Iran by that age. I think this is a HUGE factor because other than the good quality of football in europe, the quality of life is also much better. Players are more malible when they're younger and their enviroment shapes them just as much their coach and team does. These guys are living in countries which generally have a healthier population than Iran, mentally and physically. I think this will make them think wiser throughout their whole career which will definitely impact TM. You're right though. Having a lot of players in Europe doen't garuntee we're going to go to the round of 16 but it does raise our chances substantially because we'll have more players with the confidence and football knowledg that Europe provides. The coach is a huge factor too. I think if we lose CQ before the WC (If we qualify) we wont stand a chance unless the IFF brings in a very high caliber coach and gives them enough time to settle into the team with the right friendlies, training camps, & etc.

yea with the kiri pitch, Rostov will probably be looking to play a highly physical and hack n chop game and Zaltan is a straight up thug and loves playing vs physical and confrontational opponents, cause he has the size and nasty demeanor to match that sorta tempo and top it..!
he is certainly the danger man that Rostov D must remain weary of and mark up tight..!

Mahdavikia, Pashazadeh, Minavand were all relatively young when they went to Europe. but anyways, you are correct that the younger the players are in Europe, the easier they could learn and the better they could become as players. One thing you need to consider though, is that in the WC, we'll most likely be grouped with 3 other teams who have all or most of their players playing in Europe at a young age as well. African and South American teams in the world cup usually have more players playing in Europe than Iran and usually they play in better leagues too. As if that's not enough, the worst is that most other teams who qualify to the WC, get quality friendly games much easier than Iran to prepare themselves long before the WC begins. You can bring in Ronaldo and Messi themselves to play for Iran. Without proper training and good friendlies, they wont be successful. With the kind of training and friendlies we usually get, we'd be very lucky and I mean extremely lucky if we could even get close to qualifying to the second round in the WC, even with the likes of Azmoun, Ezzatollahi, Mohammadi, Shekari, Jahanbakhsh, Ali Karimi, etc in their best health and form.

As said, the only way to increase our chances a bit (just a bit) to qualify to the second round, is if we get very good friendlies and enough training. On top of that we need to be lucky, not to end up in a difficult group. Even then we might not qualify to the second round but we may at least have a chance.

Ibrah is suspended 3 games. Sardar will have to wait again to be on the field with his idol.

                ^hum...!!? really? how so?
why would they drag his ass all the way to russia then? he was in the training sessions at Rostov stadium..!!
                edit
sadly it seems thats just a domestic league and cup 3 game suspension, he is available for both Europa cup ties and will all but certainly play full 90 in both games..!

yeah ibra is suspended for all english competitions (league, cup) for three matches. European competition he can play, and given the fact that he cant play any league games, they wont have any games to save him for and he will start. Plus with the conditions, a physical rostov team, etc Zlatan is one of the few players you can rely on to not get injured or intimidated and for these reasons he will most def start

Navas and Melvia can stop zlatan.
They are both huge guys and mevlia is fast.
Navas will need to win all aerial balls, he Is bigger than zlatan so he definitely can.

The key will be how Rostov shape in the midfield.

They were able to handle Bayern and I don't view united as much stronger than Bayern or athletico.

Jose has already said Ibrah will play tomorrow.
but apparently, Jose is very unhappy with the field.

If anything Manchester United will beat Rostov on the wings. Martial taking on someone out wide and beating them means one of Rostovs large bulky CBs has to cover and move out of position.

Azmouns job is to pressure Rojo/Smalling when they are on the ball, hold the ball up and draw fouls, poach the opportunities that arise. If he proves that tomorrow he is a shoe in to any club in the world.

Kudaryshov is on the left wing and is a russian NT player.
And kalachov is surely no pushover either.

Both are known to be very rough.

It will be a good game, no doubts.
