The difference amount of players in Europe we had in the 2011 Asian Cup (before CQ) compared to now is too great to call it coincidence.

Unforunately a lot of people do not realize that with out CQ we would have NOT qualified for WC2014 (I mean look at our team, we didn't have Dejagah for any of the final games and our line up against Korea in the last game would be conisdered as one of the worst TM's on paper) and we would not be Asia's #1 team right now and have a great chance for qualifying for WC2018. Now the fact that people are talking about the 2nd round of WC2018 is a great indicator of how far we have come, 3 years ago we would have been just happy to make it to Brazil, now if we make it to Russia we will go with responsiblity and expectation on our backs, something that was non existent last time around.

You're talking about two different things.

In your initial post you claimed that thanks to CQ, more Iranian youngsters are playing in Europe. Now you say, that there are more Iranian players in general in Europe since CQ is the head coach. Then again I think there is no direct correlation between CQ being the head coach and our players going to Europe more often because at the end of the day it's the players decision to go to Europe. And not to mention that several players on that list were already in Europe like Gucci, Azmoun and Jahanbakhsh before they were called up to TM. We do have more players in Europe now, but also more players in QSL than ever before.

Nonetheless I am still satisfied with Taremi and Rezaeian going to Rizespor. Hopefully they can make an impact and grow there. I agree with the general statement that it is better than staying in IPL.

That is a nice list but still no player in top 4 European league which is a total disappointment if you ask me, even Iraq has one, most of second, 3rd rated European teams have many most of African half decent teams have some and the list goes on and on..

I would rather have players getting regular time in Russia or Holland rather then Ali Adnan who had to play with Udinese reserves for the last chunk of the season.

We are Iran not Iraq, country which exported players 20 years a go to Europe and had them play in highest level of European football. We had 3 players in one of the best European clubs(Bayren), we had players like Kia, Vahid, Azizi, Bagheri, Zandi,javad, Masoud who were playing regular for Bundesliga sides or La Liga, We had like Ando, Dejagah who were getting playing time in EPL.
We can't just be happy with playing time in some half decent European league, as i said before many times, anything in Europe is better than crappy IPL but that doesn't mean i am happy with situation.

My point was in general, not only young players, but more players are taking risks to go to Europe. Sorry If my wording was bad. But also you helped me prove my point by saying players like Gucci (also Ashkan) were already in Europe. The thing about those players is that they would not be playing for TM had it not been for CQ, no Iranian manager would go and attempt to bring these players in to the fold. CQ has consistently been reiterating the message that the fitness levels of PGPL is not sufficient and his players need to play in Europe and I believe this has helped. However your point about QSL is also correct, but fortunately the trend is starting to reverse. Dejagah and Javad are leaving and hopefully no Iranian based players go to Qatar this transfer window.

Happy for Rezaeian but Taremi could have found much better, he should have taken his Portuguese league offer at least. But it's good for all those here that just kept repeating that they weren't going to go anywhere and they did not have any offers, bazargarmi etc...

So how long is the length of deal for both players?

And for those making the comments on social media don't pay too much attention, for the most part those are the fans in Iran who more or less are "broken" from the conditions there and have nothing better to do/ critical thinking skills.

If our Team Melli makes Russian 2018 and the draw is on our side, we might actually make the round of 16.

Our team has chemistry and with CQ a upset is not out of the question.

Of course you are right. But we have to look at the current situation. No longer do we have "clean clubs" like Bank Melli or such producing players for us without hashieh, unfortunately the atmosphere in Iranian club football is bad, just look at the who debacle between CQ and Branko or Taremi and Rezaeian leaving! Our football was heading downhill after 2006, we were having less players in Europe season by season, until we had 2 for AC2011. Fortunately now we have 9 or 10 players playing in reputable leagues in Europe, leagues that are not the best, but are respected and have a decent standard of play. We have to be patient, we have 5 players under 23 playing in such "middle leagues" and in 2, 3 years. Maybe after a good performance by TM at WC2018 we can start to see our players returning to the top 4 leagues. Long story short, the standard of coaching kids get in Iran is horrible and football is Europe is all about technique and tactical intelligence, the latter is something which almost all Iranian raised players lack.

There are milions of Moroccans living in Spain, France, Netherlands and Belgium. If we had that many iranians in europe, our squad would look pretty similar.
