Maybe he's not a PK taker for his team, maybe he has a good number of assiststo make up for it, maybe he lacks service.... there's so many factors to put into play here.
Although overall I agree with your point as I also do not believe in only stats and I certainly do not believe in judging players based only on number of goals without looking at other factors, I still have to say that in this case Taremi had everything set for him to score more than he did. You can not compare Taremi who was playing for the best team in the league with the best offensive power and assisting midfielders to a player who was playing for a mid table team and still averaged the same (Lukaku).

Taremi averaged 0.5 goals/match, the second worst average since the beginning of the professional league in Iran along with Bezik (2002/2003) and Ansarifard (2013/2014).

But like I said, Taremi was playing in one of the best teams, with great players around him (no lack of service there), plus he took a lot of pk's (he did miss a lot of them though, but that's his problem).

If the top scorer of the champions team with the best offensive line of the biggest club averages 0.5 it is not considered good in the top leagues. In your example, Lukaku averaged 0.5, but he was not playing for the champions team and he did not have the assistance of great midfielders that the top teams have.

That said, in Iran usually the top scorers do not score that many games. Like I said, the best one in 15 years has been 0.7/game from Enayati, which is not even that high.

    Just for the stats:
The worst average was in 2007/2008 where the top scorer had only 0.3 goals per game. The best ones are from Enayati, 3 times averaging 0.7 goals per game (2001/2002, 2004/2005, 2005/2006) and Nowrouzi in 2010/2011 also 0.7 goals/game.
Persian Pride running through my veins!

    Esteghlal for life!!

Well like you said in Iran there's rarely ever a player with too many goals, Edinho is the only player that comes to mind who has scored lots in IPL (I don't watch the league but I sometimes look at the stats on iplstats.com to see if there's any notable performer). So maybe Taremi can't be blamed that much for not scoring lots, it's normal in our league.

he missed my point from my original post!! hahahaha... All i was saying is his stats do not give him King Status after one season.. He is getting the treatment as if he is Ali daie or Mahdavikia and he went to Bayern Munchen and didnt work out thats why he came back .... Maybe I wasnt able to convey my message properly in my first post...

How the hell does "fan treatment of a player" turn into a measuring stick for how many goals he has to score? So 1.6 would be an OK stat to you if his fans weren't so high praising of him?

and big LOL@ comparing Taremi's situation to that of the kid from SS.
              but anyways

Taremi had no situation, he left, it was over.

For some reason he came back because he wanted a bunch of low class goons to like him, as well as 2 men who don't know modern football (Parvin and Khordbin)

At this rate we will need a sub section for our players in europe .
I think Alanya is even a better city to live in than Rize, and the fact that he can already speak a language close to Turkish will help him a lot to adapt to his new life in Turkey. Good luck to Shahbazzadeh!

He has 0 TM caps and will play in a decent European league. This shows our great depth, and also shows the fact that we have many players much better than Sajjad that don't play in Europe just because of their mentality.

Same with Ali Karimi who has 0 caps and will play in Dinamo, regular UCL participants.

for our middle aged players who don't have much experience this is proof - hopfeully tabrizi, rafiei, ebrahimi, etc. are next

Exactly, IMO anyone that make the TM squad (therefore including the bench) is easily good enough for a top 7-9 European league like Russia/Netherlands/Turkey. They just need the will, mentality and a good agent.

This is why I am against bringing in average/below-average lower European league players similar to the likes of Iraq/Afghanistan/Syria. We already have great players and we produce them every year, we never lacked and never will lack the talent. The goal should be exposing them in TM and sending them to Europe.
