By the looks of it, ARJ was helping trying to prevent him from "swallowing his tongue", which is basically a commonly confused phrase of a risk that occurs during head related impact injuries (especially concussions). It basically means that when the player is unconscious, he is at a great risk of blocking his breathing passage because his muscles (particularly his tongue) have relaxed.

Figured I do a mass quotation. I get what all of you are saying. Of course he could have died if no one would've cleared his airway, but with the amount of players and staff around I am sure no one would let that happen. NFL players beat the hell out of each other and suffer concussions frequently, and the helmet doesn't really do much to prevent their brain from jolting around in their skull, they end up screwing themselves with the constant battering their brain gets.

Anywho, brutal contact between the goalie and the player. Poor guy probably woke up not remembering where he is and what happened. Concussions are not fun.

You must be pretty emotionless to not be traumatised by those series of events.

Credit to AJ for stopping the tongue from choking his teammate. I'm sure it must of been really painful for him to do that since his teammate would've bitten AJ's fingers pretty hard (there is no control of muscle movement during epilepsy)

We have people on this board who criticize how a player rubs his nose or the way they celebrate a goal or what hair style they have. Instead of praising his heroics for potentially saving a life in a split of second decision - they want him to be emotionless and not cry. I am sure everyone who criticized him are perfect in their job and whatever they do in life. Probably the same people who are reduced to tears every time their mother raises their voice at them or when a girl rejected them. Fake tough guy bullshit.

Stuff like this makes me not even want to participate in these discussions anymore. It's just becoming absurd how creative and clever some are in their cynicism. Unfortunately, it's a sign of a miserable person.

I know that I feel the same as you, Tehranto and others on this but to be honest I can't even begin to fathom people's thought process when they criticize anything AJ did today. To me calling them insensitive implies that I can see where they are coming from but don't agree with them and think they are being harsh. In all honesty I cannot even slightly see where people are coming from when they critisize him, they are not insensitive, they are morons. You should be so lucky to have friends in your life that genuinely care for your well being like AJ did for his team mate.

What he did today trumps all his footballing abilities. A true hero and compassionate soul.
