I think it's not just based on the performance in the previous month, rather it also takes into account like up to 5 years ago. Might be wrong though

South Korea climbed 3 positions despite their loss to Team Melli

Interestingly Saudis have dropped even though they had some good results recently.

Iraq are now 113th, even lower than Syria 96th!.

How are the Dutch 20th????

They've been disastrous. They lost most of their matches in the past 1-2 years, including to relative minnows such as Iceland and Turkey. However they are slowly climbing back up again. I hope they win their group and qualify to the WC.

P.S. If Iran defeats Syria next month, and Netherlands loses to Belgium in their friendly match, then Iran will be above Netherlands in the next rankings for the first time in history.
