However, TM has become better since then, so maybe they can win.

Their team is not nearly as big and physical as sweden.

A lot of the Dutch NT players are technical and not physical, while Sweden is more like Russia, more physical.

IMO. If we play our game we could actually scrap a 1-0 win against them. It would take the best from us to get the job done but its not like we are playing Germany. This Holland team is beatable.

Are you kidding me guys, Holland would soorakh us if we played them unless we park the bus and rely on capitalizing on a handful of counters. Their midfielders aren't like the Qataris or Chinese who succumb to an offensive press so easily. I know if feels good to be on top but lets be realistic. That's not to say we shouldn't be ambitious, but just objectively speaking we haven't progressed to that caliber.

I believe highest ever ranking is 15th so probably won't happen unless we have a stellar WC performance.

Not really. We'll be in a POT with the N. American teams because 4.5 Asian + 3.5 NA will be 8 teams. 8 teams in POT 1 are seeds. Pot 2 and Pot 3 are all the remainder of the teams.

Dutch NT would make a koo koo out of the Swedish NT (with Zlatan) any day! I was in the stadium watching them (without Robben) playing against Sweden in Stockholm last fall. Despite the lucky 1-1 result, the dutch team were making Sweden looleh in their own home! They're not even comparable in terms of quality!

People keep mentioning Sweden and Holland, but neither team are even close to what they used to be!

Team Melli on the other hand has never been better. Iran beats both teams if they play today.

I think you misunderstood me.

I too believe Netherlands is better than Sweden.

But TM only struggled against Sweden because of the physicality and height of Their players.

Netherlands has a lot of short and non physical players.

And since our game with Sweden we have incorporated many other tall players.

Ezatollahi, azmoun, taremi, rezaein.

Both Sweden and Netherlands are in severely worse shape than 4 years ago as well.

I'd say a match against either of those teams would go 50/50 at this point.

well, in any one game, anything could happen, but if either Netherland or Sweden NT plays our TM 10 times, we will lose most of those games.

I still disagree. Specially about the Netherlands. Sweden might have won against Iran due to their physical game but the Netherlands are much more technical and faster than Sweden, and they run their a$$es of for 90 minutes without getting tired (or as it seems). They are more physical than Argentina (if you know what I mean). I think they are far more dangerous for Iran than Sweden!
