Does anyone know where we will be in the rankings for April?
I hope we climb into the top 25

Iran will be 28th in April's ranking

I always forget this. But if we try to achieve high FIFA ranking will that mean our group for WC will be "easier" because we get higher seeding?

No, it will make no difference, unless Iran becomes top 7 in the ranking, which means they will be seeded. THEN the group will be easier. But it is unrealistic to get such a ranking by 2018.

Sweden is better than Holland right now.
And despite both teams demise lately , they are still better than Iran and let's face it the FIFA rankings are absolute joke and very misleading.

I still disagree. Specially about the Netherlands. Sweden might have won against Iran due to their physical game but the Netherlands are much more technical and faster than Sweden, and they run their a$$es of for 90 minutes without getting tired (or as it seems). They are more physical than Argentina (if you know what I mean). I think they are far more dangerous for Iran than Sweden!

They couldn't even qualify for the European championship and probably won't qualify for the World Cup.

They have good offensive players but just like their league their defense is shit.

A Bulgarian team with literally no standout players beat them with ease a few days ago.

So no, they aren't that good.

Having a comparatively weak defense in Europe says nothing about their capabilities against a defensive minded Iran!

But it's weird, they had a great run during the 2010 World Cup (runners-up) and 2014 World Cup (3rd) so we should respect their rich history. Anyway today Dutch football is in a HUGE downfall.

Holland had a lot of stars that helped them in 2010 and 2014 (Robben, Sneijder, Van Persie, etc..). To be frank I wasn't that impressed by their 2014 run, as they beat luckily Mexico and Costa Rica to reach the semis. Even Australia made them suffer in group stage.

After 2014, their stars either retired or became too old.

Elo has its own flaws in their ranking. They deducted Iran -18 points for a friendly match with our B team but they gave Iran +14 and +5 for defeating Qatar and China in WCQs!
