the one thing about massoud transfers so far is that all along it hasnt been all about benjamins..!! you could tell that he also values the Place(city & country) he gets to spend his free time in when not on the pitch..!! you could tell he loves living outside of ME in general..!!?
if i were a TM player, i could see myself making career moves right along Massoud's frame of mind...!!
nonetheless, i figured him for this season to be more chasing the $$s and opting to play in IPL or Ayrab leagues, but pleasantly surprised by this possible move to Greece and proud of him for it...!!
perhaps with the persisting void of late in TM's AM position, he thinks that he could yet again solidify himself a starting position in CQ's TM for the upcoming WCQs..?? or perhaps Carlos gave him some hints about it..??
i love the guy, but just dont see him as a starter material anymore..?? yet he will be a very useful, well-experienced utility player for us in the upcoming WCQs, when we need urgent offensive reinforcement off the bench, a technical player to break up packed defenses and earn us vital Set piece opportunities near opponents box..!!

I see that people always think he's not starter material but can somebody tell me who you think is a better AM than shojaei? Keep in mind that in his last 10 or so games he was very effective.
Amiri? Definitely not
Dejagah? Not as good in the midfield.
Not to mention that shojaei is 6'1" and has never had any fitness issues.
And after that one emotional incident against Korea he has for the most part player smart and hashiye free.
He still has all the skills and can get us important fouls. As a team that relies heavily on set pieces we can't simply ignore that.
Especially if he will be playing in a first division Greek team I'm sure his form and fitness will be great.
I'm not saying he's perfect but he damn sure deserves to be a pet of tm's wc 2018 campaign. It's not like we lack young players in the team.

As a winger though, he has been pretty weak so id much rather have Amiri on the flank, Shojaie was used in that position for a while and was always most ineffective there, the difference in productivity as a CAM vs winger is huge. His most recent TM games have been great, he was starting to lose his place but I think after the recent camp CQ will consider him for the starting XI no doubt he will be an important guy to have on our roster, and I say this with or without him winding up in Europe.Team Meli Iran

Honestly I think he just wants to save him TM spot. He barely featured in the last matches, he's 32 and if he wants to have any chance to play at the World Cup, he had no other choice but to move to Europe. Proud of him but also thankful to CQ for making a point.چو ایران نباشد تن من مباد

Shojaie's problem for TM is very simple, despite all his talents he slows the pace down too much or often foolishly loses the ball in vulnerable positions. This has been his achilles heal over the last 2-3 years. I can't see him putting in more than 30 min a match. At this level you have to be prepared that he won't be called up for every match.

but the problem is that CQ's preferred tactics and system of play doesnt really rely on a pure CAM..! whoever plays that role, must also be quick/agile and constantly hustle back and help out the D..!! and like many mentioned before he is Too slow and Weak tracking back n defending and he just doesnt have the energy and hustle and bustle to be any more than a 30-45 minute player in CQ's high energy, pressing all over the pitch style of TM football..!! hence, he is doubtful to become a TM starter again anytime too soon..!!? unless in a friendly or possibly vs very kiri opponent..!
