honestly masoud is living the life. Killing it in greece, living in a country where the price of everything is cheap, great climate/weather, greek women and food, joins TM and kills it there, and his team is in second place and heading to europa league. talk about chillin
Panionios lost last week and are currently sitting in 4th place..
Masoud has been averaging a goal/assist every 2.5 games (226.4 minutes). Not too bad for a guy his age, I respect him for going back to Europe again rather than stay and rot in the middle east. I still think he should be a starter for us.
To be fair, they stuck with both Nekounam and Masoud after very bad and long term injuries, even re-signing them to new contracts before they were healthy, something that most teams don't do.
I feel like they were just cash strapped the last couple years and could not sign both of them
True
Massoud was by en large a Bust for them as aside from occasional flashes of brilliance in few games here n there , could never manage to become a regular starter or even manage to get significant enough minutes off the bench & as mentioned not long after joining osa got some silly foot injury that kept him off for nearly 2 years while on their payroll.
Neku was performing @ incredible level for them, carried them deep into EU cup & was primed to likely get a juicy transfer to a top 3-5 la liga team before a nasty knee injury dashed all those hopes & sidelined him for well over a year too.
The whole team wore Tee with Neku picture on it in his support in following games & osa fans adored both throughout their stay there.
Again as mentioned, OSA hit a major financial crisis & Neku never again come even close to hitting his pre-injury plateau for the club nor even for TM, hence they were pretty much let go as classy as it was possible for them at that time.
Neither were able to attain a better contract afterwards either ..!

He also spent many years in Spain, learned their language and culture. Now he is experiencing the same thing in Greece. He made the best decisions for his career and for his life (spending his youth outside of Iran in good locations). Overall everyone that has met him speaks highly of his attitude and respect too. Wishing nothing but the best for him, he knows how to live!
Shojaei is getting way too many yellow cards. He needs to nock it off a bit. It's his 10th yellow card of the season or so?!
The older you get the more chances to foul , this is the norm... so hes a liability as he gives away too many fouls close to the 18 yard box and in WC European and S. American team will exploit this BIG TIME!
In addition to interest from Pana, Panionios is confident in retaining Masoud for at least another year:
"None Panathinaikos, Panionios first to Massoud
The presingk Panionios in Shoji Massoud and ... indifference to what is written on "green" concern.
Since early this year the Shoji Masood is free to negotiate with any team wants. It is reasonable under the circumstances, his name is involved in various transcriptional scenarios for Marinos Ouzounidis, who knows him well, and Panathinaikos.
In New Smyrna indifferent and deal solely with how to keep the Iranian mesoepithetiko for at least another year Panionios.
In the contract that is valid until the end of June, there is a renewal option writer enough to obtain agreement between the two sides - that is not unilateral action. The 32 year old international passes well Panionios and has no problem to continue, and he feels useful and problems do not exist.
This is why it has already become the first conversation with the manager, in which people of Panionios have developed excellent relations (it is the same as the Ansarifarnt), and there is optimism that before the start of the playoffs, over 10 -15 days, Masoud not only agreed, but it has already signed.
Panionios believe from that point of contact between the two parties and ratified soon. Against everything that is written about the future of Massoud."

Shojaei was voted the MVP in his first year by Osasuna fans. I'm afraid your history is inaccurate.
Right, as the world goes, is only in question between equals in power, while the strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must.

can't say i recall everything ...but
perhaps MVP from fan's perspective.. highly doubt it was from the FOOTBALL QUALITY or the club/team's perspective..!?
off course, his style of football is highly technical, entertaining and super attractive to your avg. fan.
He was/Is Still the most Attractive and well dressed (GQ) TM Legionnaire with a very grounded and charming personality to boot, and to top it off he made significant inroads with quickly assimilating with the local culture and learning Spanish, hence became the attractive young face to the club's media at that time.
All of above which highly contributed to him winning that Osa FANS MVP award and if i recall also a very significant share of their Shirt Sales at the club's store throughout his stay. Probably those were big reasons why Osasuna mgmt kept him on books and renewed his initial contract, shortly after which he got his foot injury..!
anyways from my recollections in terms of football Playing Contribution perspective, Massoud was never anything but a limited minutes, utility, Bench player for Osa throughout his whole career there..!? i hardly recall him ever starting any game or at least no more than a handful of games in a season..?? and it also seemed to me as the few games that he did get the starting nod were often vs Rich, High Profile Opponents, hoping he could dazzle them with his fancy footwork and sucker them into buying him off Osa (in other words, they were putting him on the shop window.)..!
I dont know how to dig up such stats, but i think a good way to settle this discussion would be to look @ his actual Playing Minutes over the Minutes which he was not injured and actually available to play..!!?? Im fairly certain it would be a very, very low figure..!
The fact that he failed to garner a Better contract/transfer after his dismissal from Osa is also another clear proof to my earlier claims..!
