People just started seeing Ramin as the starter just as he went to Europe, but again it's wrong thinking that if a player is simply in Europe he is therefore suddenly superior to others. Until Ramin showed any real sign of development in Turkey we could've seen him as a starter but for now I'd say he's the backup.
Any thoughts on Danial Mahini? The guy impressed me in the recent TM match. I didn't see him as being a huge offensive threat, but he seemed a good height and build, and was solid defensively. Also, he is young. I preferred his style of play to Rezaeian's. Ghafouri has been a question mark since his injury. I would be more comfortable with Ghafouri or Mahini starting going forward than Rezaeian.

Rezaeian has acted like a child with this whole farce, but I think the most important thing is that his style doesn't fit CQ's usual system.

We will probably see Rezaeian play against very weak teams who don't push forward much, but I think it is guaranteed he won't play when it matters like against Uzbekistan and Korea. Ghafouri, Mahini, or someone who emerges in the coming months will be the RB plugged into our important matches and the World Cup if we make it.

Yes as you said he will probably be a starting option in the future and is quite promising.

Rezaeian would be a good option against weaker teams than us at home where we will look to overlap, he is a bit too keen to go forward which makes him kinda vulnerable defensively.

Mahini is quite young and at the same time inexperienced (ofc even if he won the league last year) which may result in him being inconsistent at this stage, but he's certainly one to watch. We'll see if he can cement his place in the upcoming squads.
Ghafouri for me stays the best option as he is the least prone to mistakes and the most consistent as well as balanced RB

What a shame... something about this whole scenario just seemed doomed to fail, right when they both transferred.

I don't care who starts for TM... I trust CQ's judgement, and when it comes to TM, whenever a player throws that jersey on I don't care which club they play for. If they lay their heart on the line in national team games, that is all I can ask, whether it is Rezaeian, Ghafouri, Mahini, etc... I like them all.

Danial Mahini was benched today vs Esteghlal. Again as i said, we have few options in this position and almost all lack consistency, there is no one you can say 100% this is the guy, is kind of sad becasue right back position used to be our force for quite few years:
Shahin Bayani-> Javad Zarrincheh-> Mehdi Mahdavikia-> Khosro Heydari(not close to Zarrincheh and Kia but still a decent option, his biggest weakness was he lacked speed)

The funny thing is that LB has always been our problem instead, but with Milad Mohammadi and some how Hajsafi that position is quite secured. In fact, I have to say, from what I've seen from Milad Mohammadi, he can become the best LB we've had in history. Even above Minavand IMO.

As for Ghafouri.....he's not Mahdavikia or Zarincheh but he's definitely the best we've got at the moment.

vouria has no chance against ramin if we are playing korea for instance. ramin has speed vouria is not fast enough and is slow

I disagree especially against a team like Korea or even Uzbekistan it would be preferable to have the best defensive side backs and in this case it's very clear that Ghafouri is much better defensively than Ramin. He is a much more balanced RB than offensive minded Rezaeian

Let's also not forget that Montazeri is great in the RB spot as well and CQ likes using him there when facing strong opposition like SK, I rate him above Ramin there too as well as Ghafouri. I was hoping Ramin would develop a lot more in turkey prticularly because that league is stacked with good forwards and midfielders but as it is now both Ghafouri and Montazeri are both better than him. Only thing that might give rezaeian and edge is Ghafouri's injury, not sure if he's been the same since returning from injury.

Oh without a doubt 100% Montazari is more favorable than both Vouria and Ramin… The only problem is he's more of a CB isn't he? Milad Mo is young, but I'm happy with his progress and think he can be our future LB… As for RB, it looks a little foggy, but personally, I think Ramin is more of an offensive minded RB whereas Vouria is more Defensive minded. It would be interesting to see what CQ does, but i wouldn't even be surprised if neither Vouria or Ramin play vs Qatar! Instead, he may play Milad, Pouraliganji, Hosseini, and Montazari… The only problem is both Hosseini and Montazari are getting old.

As for our boy Khosro Heydari, he is the Man… The Myth… The Legend… The Greatest of all-time. Legend says he doesn't need dribbling skills, but rather blinds his opponents with his sharp Unibrow… lol jokes aside, Heydari was always a good service to TM and probably won't be getting much time either as he is getting old too.

Just like all the big golfers that avoided Rio since they

Iranians are warned to avoid Turkey right now.

The problem with Montazeri is that Hosseini is getting old and I'm not sure how long he can keep up with elite level football. For the WC, he'll be quite an old player. Perhaps CQ will keep him for his experience but to be sure, Montazeri should continue playing in the CB with Pouraliganji so they can get adjusted with each other.
