No question KA was instrumental in that goal. He faced the goalie when he was shooting, so he was aware and right defensive mindset. And he put pressure on the defender to make that mistake.

Damesh garm. He also assisted our goal in Uzbekistan in the World Cup 2014 where we scored the goal in injury time to steal a game in Uzbekistan. We were horrible in that game as well.

For those of you (not to be named) who ridiculed Ansarifard for missing the header, which he was clearly being pulled back from behind by Qattari player, owe him a big apology because he saved our asses today. He fought for the ball, played it so calm and delivered a beauty to Reza. And credit to Reza for his outstanding finish. Actually they should both be credited equally for that play.

Well I got the scoreline correct and the results but boy I was sure wrong on how it came about.

2-0 Iran. Gutter will park the bus but get scored on at the start of second half. Then it will attempt to attack a little and get scored on in 65th-80th minute range.

End result? 3 points for the good guys.

This was actually a very good UN side, I put them above Uzbekistan, either them or UAE will likely qualify as the .5 Asian allocation to WC2018

This win was very similar to our win against Uzbekistan in Tashkand. Both goals were scored at 94th minute and Karim was somehow involved in both of them.

This win was one of the sweetest TM wins in a very long time, seriously it was an amazing feeling. 6 minutes of stoppage time, and baammmmmmm TM scores 2 super crucial goals within the stoppage time.
When the fight broke out, I got a heartattack, thinking the ref must have disallowed the goal, because the TV focused on Gucci and Ansarifard's after their celebration, and how dumbfounded they looked, as if the red called off the goal. Man what an amazing twist at the end of the match it was, who would have thought TM will score not just a goal, but 2 goals in the stoppage time?
Gucci once again came to our rescue during yet another WCQ adventure, this time his goal came even more precious as he came on around 76' and the assist came from Ansarifard who came in towards the end of the game.

Ah!! Same thing happened to me! I thought the ref blew the final whistle before they scored and that's what Gucci was reacting to!

I hadn't noticed that the goal pass was actually from Qatari defense not karim until after I watched the rewind, so that would have left no doubt about goal's cleanness. Kudos to karim regardless for intercepting the ball. I guess this could be called a dual team work (2 on each side assisted the goal) something not seen too often!

we played pretty bad but I am very happy we won. We need to play much better football though, that kind of performance at home is not acceptable. Hopefully we play better against China. If we manage to get 3 pts from the China game we will be looking good and confident, I would be happy with a draw as well.

Australia thrashes Qatar 3-0 and Qatar is an average side. We beat them 2-0 and Qatar are a strong team. Please make up your minds people! haha

It was a poor overall effort by Iran but they never gave up which is great. They kept going.

The pointing of lasers and throwing bottles and coins at Qatari players and coaches was a low act by the Iranian fans. AFC should sanction these fools because we may get banned and have to play with an empty stadium!

I was in the stadium when UN players were grassrolling fans were chanting "Arab Kose Nanat" and when Qatari goalie received the ball an insane crowd were booing him nobody saw that "sooti" coming from goalie but when Gucci scored Azadi exploded same with 2nd goal credits to Ando with his pass to Yahanbax in the 2nd goal (which he should have done before) and also the scorer himself JB. It was very nice to see Qatar's coach pulling his hair. Qataris were lying in the grass and "Iran" song was playing maybe it was the best 6 minutes of my life thank you TM for yesterday.

LOLOLO dude are you stuck in 2008? cause that is when Australia beat Qatar 3-0. Last time they played was in 2014 when Qatar won 1-0. Also the Qatar team has been completely changed very recently overhauled by players from all over Africa and South America. All the teams left in qualification in Asia have stepped up and closed the gap big time. No easy games left anymore.
