Pero Pejic who scored 31 goals in Albania in 14-15 scored 3 for esteghlal last season. Sukaj who scored 15 goals in 60 ipl games was the 2nd top scorer of Albania last season with 21 goals in 31 games. That should tell you enough about the quality of the league.

But he's only 18 and can get more exposure and move up in Europe even if it's not a good league

That's not really true. They made it to the EL group state for the first time last year, losing 5 out of 6 matches. For this season, they should have started in the second round of the CL qualification campaign, but were disqualified and replaced because of match-fixing allegations...

Clearly it's not a good league, even compared to IPL. He probably went for playing time considering I don't think he will get it at Gostaresh this season, maybe his agent can make some things happen afterwards. As I said he's still young and raw we'll see what he becomes in couple of seasons

He's 18! Let him go there for a bit no damage can really be done.

You do realize almost all the Albanian international players in their national team started off in the Albanian league too right? Look where they are now though...

Albanian league is OK. Not great, but better than him rotting on the bench in the IPL. Good for Karimi... We may see him in an even better league in the future.

Very few of them actually. The vast majority of their nt players were born or raised abroad.

He's only 18 and has a lot of time to progress. Well done for taking the risk and wish him a lengthy and progressive career in Europe.

Don't forget Saeed started with Atletico's youth team which is certainly not at higher level than a first division (even Albanian) team. If this lad can prove himself there, sooner or later will be scouted and transferred to a better league.

Well the only positive thing we can take from this is that it looks like finally our players are developing a culture of moving to Europe early and taking risks (meaning even if it is in sht league)

The same can be said about almost all of the best Iranian players and IPL. Zlatan started off in the Swedish league, Nedved in the Czech, Shevchenko in the Ukranian and best of all George Weah in the Liberian league. It doesn't prove anything.

Albania has produced some decent players the past years. He's probably better off there than any of the Arab leagues (except for maybe the Saudi league).

Not sure about that, lot of them were born in Switzerland or France, and started their career there.
