Overall poor performance, but TM very, very clutch and good winning mentality in the dying moments of the game.

Improvements are very needed, and soon.

To finish it off enjoy the arab commentary of the goals

At this point I think one can conclude that Ansarifard, Taremi and Rezaian are not TM material. Ando, Dejagah and Hajsafi are not in form at the moment. We very badly needed a playmaker today to service Azmoun. I'm not a fan of playing with 2 DMs in games like this where we need to win. I was really hoping that CQ would play Torabi, and at least invite Shekari so he gets some experience practicing with the team.

This is what happens when your preparation is also an official WCQ game. Thanks to IFF and Branko Ivankovich.

I didn't like to see both Taremi and Rezaeian in starting lineup tonight. I can somewhat understand for Rezaeian since Ghafouri is out of form, but Taremi didn't show anything special last games he played (for TM and PP), to earn a starting spot at the expense of Torabi or even Amiri... Btw, I know it won't happen but I really want TM to switch to a 4 4 2 formation for future games...
something like this would be deadly:

          Beiranvand

          Ghafouri Montazeri Hosseini Mohammadi

          Jahanbakhsh Teymourian Ezzatolahi Hajsafi

          Gucci Azmoun

CQ has instilled a winner mentality. Even if we play bad (and have the bribed ref against us) we can win. Most of our players seemed out of sync and unpolished, however this was sort of an preparation match for us for the away games.

We will grow as the qualification progresses.

Hajsafi is not a LB.. He had a few nice moves going forward but this game even his crosses were off.. We need him to play the same position he did in the world cup.

And the road to the world cup might be more difficult than we thought. Qatar just gave us a good run for our money, we were lucky to get the 3 points, South Korea only beat China 3-2, Uzbekistan beat Syria 1-0. We have to be on our A-game in every game, not like today..

Exactly. the whole team only played together for the first time after the previous friendlies.

I just saw the second have.
Midfield was non existing.. defence way slow.. wingers didn't know how to cross.. only danger came from 1 or 2 good plays from azmoun.
So I don't see why Jahanbakhsh is getting a high rating, we got really lucky. He scored a good goal, but that's about it (same goes for Gucci).

Taremi should not be starting, he didn't have a proper pre season training nor is he match fit, same goes to Rezaein.

Today showed us why, they were our weakest link, along with Hajsafi who is clearly inadept at defending. While it is true that he isn't a LB, he has been
playing there for 4-5 years and has shown no improvement whatsoever in that post.

It must be said that 6 out of our starting 11 joined the team two days ago, and this is the first time they have played together.

Against China, I would like to see PAG and Hosseini as CBs, Montazeri taking Rezaein spot and Mohammadi taking over Hajsafi's spot.

The midfield can remain untouched, but Taremi needs to give up his spot to Torabi or Gucci.

All in all, we got a very very important 3 points at home, now lets go get that draw(at a minimum) in China and be on our way.

I'm watching some highlights from China matches now, and it seems they score a lot of free kick goals. We need to be very careful of these. We gave away too many fouls today in bad positions.

I think it's interesting to note that Gucci's goal this time was almost a spitting image of his goal against Qatar in Doha. Instead of Jabbari losing the ball right to Gucci's feet, it was Ansarifard.

In terms of ratings, I'd say everyone was hovering between 5 and 6. Some nice late goals, but nobody performed exceptionally today. I place this on the lack of chemistry. Qatar has been together for 30 days practicing for this one match, so they did a good job defending (and grass-rolling). They almost stole the point, but we were tenacious and lucky. I think the team will be a bit better against China, but I'm worried about Sardar. He seemed fatigued today, which I expected due to his recent playing schedule. We need him firing on all cylinders against China.

Can't rely on beating every team in the 90th minute. Too many PFDC'ers would die of heart-attacks. I know I almost died a few times today. Especially around the 89th minute when Qatar was grass-rolling like true pros. You'd almost be able to convince me that they were the best at grass-rolling, but I have seen Saudi play, so I know they're the true inventors.

I've been baffled all week as to why Ghoochanejad wouldn't be starting. He was an instant spark off the bench. Yes, the goal he scored was lucky because the goalkeeper was a moron, but he played well in the limited time he was on the field. I hope CQ starts him next week against China.

You guys might not have noticed but montazeri saved our asses with succesful last second tackles more than a few times.
