What's more the Qatari defender tipped the ball away from Ansarifard to Gucci. So it doesn't even matter where Gucci is standing.

Ezzatollahi lit up Rodrigo Tabata who is old enough to be his dad. My viewing was different. Many times Ando was too high up the field which led to Qatar getting counters against us. We don't have a good corner taker. Ando going to take the corners is dumb because counters are so obvious afterward. Jahanbakhsh needs to lift his crosses more.

We have one game against in Doha and then don't have to play them for another few years at the least. Sigh of relief to be honest.

Agree. Taremi is no right winger, he can't hold the ball! To my surprise, after I saw lineup, I thought Taremi was going to play behind Azmoun, but he was left wing! Hajsafy is just not very good defensively. We need Milad Mohammadi for next game. Plus, Hajysafy hasn't had much match praxis with Sepahan. He looked out of it (nice hair cut though).

I keep hearing "we were lucky" and I don't really agree with it.

Playing bad and still winning is the sign of a good team. And football is a game of mistakes so the "goalie handed us the win" logic doesn't work here. You win or lose based on your opponent's mistakes.

I do agree, however, that we weren't good enough. It was a sluggish, uninspired, and bland performance. This is why CQ has been yelling "friendly games" for half a decade now. I also don't think we'll see another performance like this in China on Tuesday.

This was a massive three points because it was a home game. If we manage four wins and a draw at home, I am absolutely sure that we can manage at least five more points away.

Overall, bad performance but great win. Nothing lucky about it.

you answered your own question. He's a great spark off the bench.

im happy we won , but all together we didint play good . Also i believe what ever team we play arabs , koreans etc... we shud concentrate on our own game and not rub it into peoples faces as thats just unprofessional all the talks should be done on the pitch.

                  Regarding Gucci/offsids:

A pass and deflection are the same in the offsides rules.

People saying we were lucky would have not said it if those goals came in earlier. It's Qatar issue if their professional goalkeeper cannot stay focused during the whole match, and JB's goal was a beauty, now those saying his goal was lucky is truly laughable I want to say all Ronaldo's goals are lucky too then.

It was almost an exact same goal as the one he scored again with his weaker foot cutting inside vs Utrecht.

We were bad, yes. Lucky, no. We were clutch in the right moments and punished them for their mistakes, their issue. We could've made mistakes that led them to score, we didn't, they did, we scored. It's their problem

Now let's look back at JB's "lucky" goal

We keep "getting lucky" with Carlos Querioz ...

                      - Uzbekistan in World Cup 2014 qualifiers ...
                      - South Korea in World Cup 2014 qualifiers
                      - Qatar in World Cup 2014 qualifiers ...
                      - Qatar in World Cup 2018 qualifiers ...

Once it keeps happening over and over again, it's no longer luck. This is a staple of a great team, always able to win despite not playing well. I can't remember the last time we lost under CQ in regular time ... how long has it been?

LMAO Azmoun went all in at the interview.. Ruthless

The drama after the first goal was evidently because Nekounam ran in to the pitch to celebrate with the players, and they were celebrating next to the corner flag, so Nekounam ran past Qatar's bench, and they got offended.
