Lol sorry I counted four years from now! [emoji1]

We may not have played our best but we played till the FINAL whistle. This is sport and crazy situations like this happen. I'm glad we were on the positive end of it.

I can't believe Taremi played from the left, I really thought he would be playing right behind Azmoun. He was really weak! Overall the left side was really weak!
Our fullbacks were kinda non-existent! Montazeri was the MOM imo.

Things definitely have to improve but I'm extremely happy with the win. It was one of the sweetest in the last 10 years for sure!
Persian Pride running through my veins!

          Esteghlal for life!!

Beiranvand - 6,5 (Solid, did not deal well with crosses from the side)
Rezaeian – 5 (Decent going forward not effective though, too many long balls to no mans land, offers 0 coverage in defence)
Montazeri – 7 (Solid in defence, some nice last ditch tackles)
Hosseini – 7 (Solid in defence, no non-sense defending)
Hajsafi – 3 (Probably the worst player imo, did not offer anything in attack nor in defence aside from one good move on Soria, really disappointing crosses and his runs came to nothing in the end)
Ando – 5.5 (Invisible during large parts of the match, good distribution when in possession of the ball)
Ezzatollahi – 6,5 (Good aerial coverage, seemed confident on the ball, has to do better in distribution)
Dejagah – 5.5 (Couple of decent runs but lacked efficiency, did put in a lot of work and recovery)
Taremi – 5 (Lacked efficiency, worked hard upfront and battled well though)
Jahanbakhsh – 7 (Did well, scored a fine goal, couple of effective moves, grew into the match but was not always involved in moves forward especially in the first half in which he lost too many balls upfront, not consistent enough yet)
Azmoun – 5 (2 nice moves, should be much more present, lacked support but overall he did not do well in terms of positioning, dropping deep in midfield when needed or finding space between the lines to be available in attack)
            ---------------------------
Amiri – 5.5 (Did not replace Dejagah with the same work rate, but was decent)
Ansarifard – 6 (Did well in terms of positioning, has a good instinct in finding space in attack, though his finishing, header, was off)
Ghoochannejhad 6.5 – (Should have started, fine goal, carried more attacking threat as he goes at it, did not see enough of him to really rate him)
            MoM Seyed Jalal Hosseini &Montazeri
            -------------------------
            In conclusion,
            - We need other backs who can defend and support attack better
            - More training on general tactics, like counter moves, positioning when applying pressure, positioning in attack and attacking from the flanks
            - Better distribution from midfield ( 1 DM instead of 2)
            - Gucci should start instead of Taremi or Azmoun, Taremi should be used when we are a goal up (to give the opposing team more resistance upfront)

"You always have to score 1 goal more than the opponent"

Pretty much agree with you. Thanks a lot for taking emotion out of the ratings and just judging the performance, great post.

I'm sorry, but right now Gucci doesn't even come close to Azmoun in terms of general quality..
Sardar is our main striker for the time being and there should be no discussion about that (I also very much doubt CQ would ever bench Azmoun).
Gucci could be very effective for us off the bench, or as a second striker/left winger.

Gucci has perfect role now was a joker type. The Clutch Dutch fits perfectly into this role.

I hope CQ is ashamed to produce such performance against a toothless Qatari team. This so-called big coach relied on pure luck so many time and can thank Gucci who save him from so many shameful production. I won't speak about all his drama about resignation, complain, critics in international media, Croatia friendly cancelled.

CQ is there from 2011, it is more than 5 years the guy pick up the same core of players and his team cannot succeed in doing more than two passes. In Iran, we (media, fans) rely too much on players ability (Oh Karimi take the ball from our side, dribble all the opposite side and score! Oh Azmun please score a goal when you have no service,). One day we should expect a team work, beautiful passes etc.. And that's what we should expect from a coach that is internatiolly known and who work there from 5 years. We can be happy about beating our qatari "friends" in that way but our performance was catastrophic and worrying! We will have a hard time even beating minnows like Syria if we lose the ball after two passes!

The most catastrophic about CQ is his players selections. The WC14 squad was bad (with the exclusion of Khalatbari and Azmun). His stuborness to take Shojaei, Heydari, Hajisafi,as a left back, etc... during so many games and preventing our young players to gain experiance is a scandal.

Dejagah is out of shape since a long time, displaying horrible performance. Ansarifard is NOT good. He is NOT GOOD!!! he can play in greece and score some goals there, he doesn't mean anything!! He can hardly score against guam!!! Gucci save CQ a$$ so many time, fight to play in Europe but remain in the Bench. Torabi was superb in all TM match and has no playing time.
The icing on the cake with this CQ crook is the selection of Rezaian and Taromi and their inclusion in the line up yesterday. That's inexcusable. Not only these two clowns aren't famous for their incredible quality but they showed to the whole world they doesn't have professional and mental capacity for high level. All the world saw that, even blind people but not mister CQ!!! INCREDIBLE!!!!

What was quite interesting is that the whole Qatar team had been together for about 4 weeks and had 25+ training sessions prior to the game against us and 6 friendlies.
And the two players who scored yesterday (Jahanbakhsh, Ghoochannejhad) just arrived on Monday and spent 2 (!) training sessions with TM!

So they missed out on their holidays, and couldn't beat us.

Things couldn't get any worse for the Qatari no-stars.

                              Also, everyone watch this clip.
It shows how the fight started.

Nekounam only celebrated, and then one of the Qataris slapped him in the face and that's when things got messy.

Qataris couldn't take it that someone was celebrating and their time wasting didn't work. Funny how time becomes so urgent to them only when losing.

If this video is shared, AFC won't be able to do much. However it is AFC so they would ban even our dogs if they could.

I thought the Qatari coach is classy, but looking at this video, he's vahshi and hot headed and tried getting in the middle of all the fights. No wonder CQ was smiling at the end. He ticked them off again with his mental games

I love the commemorate between the boys. From Azmoun going to kiss Reza to Andranik protecting Nekonaum. This is very important and builds team harmony.

But Javad should not have been on the field. We cannot engage in these kind of games. Our footballing game is much better than others so we need to stick to that.
