I can't believe that he wasted 2 full years of his career in Kuwait and Qatar. He should stay in the Eredivisie for the remainder of his career.

well at that time he was already locked in a 4 year contract with the owner of Charlton/Standard Leige ..!
remember, he wasnt wanted by SL so he was loaned off to Charlton..!
his style of play was ill-fitted to Championship football, CAFC seemed to be in constant chaos and he couldnt settle in well with the overly demanding and generally nasty, hateful CAFC Fan base..! therefore, after his decent WC14 display, he chose gutter/Kuwait loan move in order to make some big $$ ..!
the Kuwaities and Gutteries soon they found out he was just there for the big money and wasnt particularly committed to their clubs..! so they benched him often and shipped him back to CAFC last season for his last year of original 4 year contract.
His reluctance to demand exit and cancel his original 4 year contract, tells me that he was being paid good money for it..!!

anyways, he moved back to the much better suited Eredivisie after his 4year contract expired, now he has to work hard to rebuild his playing reputation after that wasted, hapless 4 year club spell..!

One of the most opportunistic strikers EVER. I knew the Eredivisie would be a perfect fit for him given his fantastic positioning. Always at the right place and time. Shireh Reza.

Before the season i called he would score more then 10. We are half way through he has 7 in league. Its sad how he was being judged on how he was performing at Charlton. Obviously that was a terrible fit for him but the Eredivisie is his fit just like how GSL was a fit for Karim.

Maybe because of the stupid Israeli coach of him, he didn't get enough playing time.

Still he scored 5 goals and made 2 assists in 18 games for Standard, I wouldn't say he totally failed there. The Belgian league is comparable to the Dutch, if he got enough trust from the coach he would have played much better. I remember he stated in an interview that he was forced to go to Standard because of the owner former Roland Duchâtelet didn't let him go to Club Brugge, which had his preference.

Reza has to be starting for TM. Look at how he is scoring. He at the right place at the right time, that is a vital trait to have against the shoddy AFC defenses.

Everyone will be worrying about Azmoun, and forget about Reza, who slips past an offside trap and knocks one in. Kids watch how he prepares for an offside trap. For every striker out there I recommend watching Reza play.

i think charlton long contract killed him, had to go on loans, and charlton would not play him and sell him

People underrate Reza, because he is such a nice, educated and well manner footballer, today in Iran in order to be heard you need to be Sharlataan like Daei, Azizi, Mansourian, etc and few others, people like Kia, Vahid, Reza will never get enough attention because it is not just in their nature to make noise for sake of it.
Reza's place in our football history is much higher than Azizi. If Azizi scored a pair against Aussie(both games) and was ONE of the key players in an amazing 1998 team, GUCCI was THE KEY PLAYER in 2014 qualification. Without his 2 straight winner goals in a very average 2014 team, we should kiss 2014 WC. In case of Azizi he had strong 1996 Asian Cup and 1998 Qualification, that means he was at his best for the period of 2 years, his stats of 11 goals in 47 caps doesn't lie, while in case of Reza he continues to perform well for TM, he had a short period of struggling when he joined Kuwait but other than that he scored probably twice the key goals than Azizi and keep doing it.
Lovable person and a great footballer, imagine a player with his status was benched few times in TM, specially after Sardar's shining and never said a word. Would someone like Azizi, Daei, or any other player do the same? Hell NO!

I hardly ever agree with you but hell of a post man. Great points the whole way. Whatever Azizi and Daei did for us in the pat they are doing plenty to undo today.
