Lately he reminds me of Arda in the Turkish NT. Used to be brilliant and their main man but now he unnecessarily hangs on to the ball way too long and significantly slows down the game at times.
Above that he's having multiple bad unnecessary turn overs every game which can turn out ugly for us.
Ashkan is still one of the better players, but unfortunately the Qatari league has killed his game tremendously!
The most overrated legionnaire ever. I never rated him, and he never contributed to important victories with goals or assists.
If you look at his club resume (Herta, Wolfsburg and Fulham) you would expect so much more from this type of player, but he has dissapointed.
Even Zandi is a class above Dejagah now, if we had to rank legionnaires on their value. Dejagah is done. But I still thank him for trying and wearing the TM jersey, thus representing Iran.

lol Kiarash what kind of drugs you taking in Amsterdam boy?
I really believe that when Ashkan hangs up his boots, we'll miss him terribly. For some reason, he's never been given the credit he deserves. In my opinion, he has been hands-down our best player since he joined the team in 2012. He is literally ALL OVER the field. He fights for every single ball, his technique is the highest of anyone on the team, and he plays with passion every single time. The guy is an absolute beast.
Why do we underappreciate him? I think people are still subconsciously upset that he refused to play for Iran during his prime Hertha/Wolfsburg years. There's no other explanation...he's head and shoulders above the rest of team melli players. Absolute beast.
Most people just hate on him because he moved to an Arab country. I won't say he is the best as I think the younger generation is catching up. For sure Sardar has been on fire playing at CL level and scoring. But anyone saying he should be a sub clearly clueless when it comes to Football or just has issues with him playing in an Arab country.
He may not be the best anymore but still holds his own over almost anyone hands down. Not to mention how he plays with 'Gheyrat'

If you appreciate what Ando does then you are being unfair towards Dejagah. Teams without gutsy energy guys like Dejagah lack that killer instinct and pesky attitude to fight for every ball.
I like him and he's a good player but I don't think I've ever seen him match fit. He's pretty much been unfit since he joined us.
Im interested as to why people think he's unfit. Every game he plays for TM he's hustling for the ball and putting in effort, so why do you say that? If it's because you see him standing around sometimes, that's because he has been playing in a CAM role for us for a while meaning he's in the center and COULD be defending every ball, but that wouldn't be beneficial because he would constantly be out of position.
I can't understand how anyone could say he did poorly....he only one who was able to go forward and keep the Qatari defenders on their toes was dejagah. He was weaving through their defense and causing trouble the whole 1st half....meanwhile ezi couldn't complete a pass and sardar couldn't keep control when the ball came to his possession. In a day full of offensive disappointment he was one of the only ones who did his job.
