Iranian fan racism towards Arabs & the consequences.

I have worked with many Arabs. They have always been very friendly and professional towards me.

I find it really annoying to see many (young) Iranians generalize a whole ethnicity. Calling them monkeys, lizard eaters, etc. Don't you[emoji118] think that we may be the problem?

Well many Iranian believe that we are superior and a smart nation. Tbh I only see people making fool out themselves. If they provoke us and say crap don't pay attention to them. That's what they're looking for, bringing us down.

Want to say that on that AFC hub comment stream everyone was being racist to each other. We would do well to erase this activity from our culture, but it in no way indicates that we have the only perpetrators.

There were commentators from Cambodia, China, England, Iraq, Saudi, Bahrain, Korea, Japan all being racist to different groups.

Over the last 19 years Iranian sport fans on the internet have gone from the most respectful and best fans to a bunch of total animals on facebook/instagram/forums etc.... Of course it is only statistically only a minority, but it now seems that they have become a horde of abusive immature gremlins

It is a real embarrassment, but if you put it into perspective with how the country has suffered as a whole then it is less important. Just a bit sad when you think that iranians were known to be hospitable and polite and in the early days on all the iranian forum sites we had a lot more foreign and female contributors, the balance was much nicer.

Just take a look at the referee today-- a Jordanian Arab crew which called the game fairly and consistently throughout. The center ref couldve easily handed a penalty to China in the final minutes but didnt because it wasnt a 100% call. The point at hand is that they will always be our coworkers to football officials, and people we interact with on a daily basis.
