The actual article that Wikipedia sourced says this:

Williams will referee his final match in Australia on Tuesday night when he takes control of the International Champions Cup (ICC) match between Juventus FC and Tottenham Hotspur F.C. at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. He will remain available for international appointments until December.

This guy has a mental illness. I hope IFF someow solves this problem because he will destroy our dreams of qualifying for the world cup and once again break the hearts of million Iranians.
They way he has screwed some teams over, I am really surprised this Scumbag has never been assaulted outside the pitch.

Referees need help such as goal line technology. Referees have made mistakes, remember France qualified instead of N. Ireland when one of France players used his hand to score a deciding goal?? The referee in that game was called to referee several games in the following World Cup.

Iranian FF must learn to go trough proper channels and express its views in writing, if nothing changed must not start kicking and screaming.

Honesty if TM goes out there and plays the right quality football they would have nothing to worry about. Yes all refs make mistakes, Williams has made a ton again us but I really dont think he has something against Iran. He has had bad calls against a lot of team just like most refs. So let's stop this negative energy and hope TM goes out there and has some quality crosses and finishes. The more quality dominant team will win. It's that simple. Other factors are just excuse and fan frustration from previous past games.

is his confirmation confirmed by afc?or just made up by iranian sources?also they said he has retired, if he had reitred, then why he would be choosen for a international game?make no sense

The World Cup is in Russia. Uzbekistan will qualify for the world cup. This is a common will. Uzbekistan will be in Russia as it is a "russian world cup".

As posted earlier, he is retiring at the end of 2016, but is completely finshed as a ref for the Aussie league as of July 2016.

I don't understand your logic here!? What is the correlation between the 2 countries? Just because they used to part of Soviet Union make them entitled and worthy of being in Russia's WC?

If your statement is in reference to Uzbekistan football's good performance, I may understand it better, however merely linking their history to pull the final verdict of their qualifications is quite bizarre.

Anyway like I said before, I hope and I believe that Iran and Uzbekistan will directly qualify to WC, While S. Korea will this time around fight and qualify through playoffs.

If that's the case then Qatar has to be in this WC. Correct me if I am wrong but they may be the only host to never feature in a prior tournament.

I believe Korea and Iran will go through...these teams will get their acts together. Uzbekistan has an outside chance but given their history I see it as a slimmer chance.

O-zone, we will see, anything can happen. Yes, Korea and Iran do have a much better track record that we cannot match. But that means absolutely nothing on the pitch.
In any case, regardless of who might qualify, it is still fun to follow this qualification process anyway. Asian teams will go, play 3 games take 0 points and come back anyway.

Good Luck to Uzbekistan. I hope both Iran and Uzbeks will qualify directly.

yes uzbeks will be very motivated, because it is in russia, and also it is a wish from russia to see uzbekistan qualify for this event, same for the other neighbor countries. i think uzbeks can do it this time. of course it is in our hands. about qatar, well, who cares, if they qualify or not, they do not care even, they will host 2022, no need to qualify for russia for sure anymore...
