Hey I might go to Tashkent to watch this game. Anyone know where I can buy tickets? Couldn't find it on their federation website. I know random question, but worth a try i guess.

I have read some optimistic opinions about the match that u gonna win, but I beg to differ. Yes iran has great experience of participating WC and high national spirit but to be realistic, a point is an achievment for Iran in Tashkent. I really hope that CQ gonne chose moderate (not a defensive) tactics...

If you think CQ won't play a defensive formation, I'm afraid I've got some bad news. We play defensive in Tehran, so I doubt anything will change in Tashkent. It will be a frustrating game for both teams. It's most likely a 0-0 or a 1-0 in either teams favor. Does Uzbekistan have any new strong players? I know Denisov is still decent, but getting older, and Akhmedov is a pretty good player, but the team seems to have aged a lot. Very similar to Iran's team before 2010 where it was many good players, but near the end of their careers so less effective than 4 years before.
I may be wrong, and I think it will be a good game, but Iran will give Uzbekistan a very tough game. I believe that our youth moving into our team will give us the x-factor to beat you though. You guys will have experience, but we will have speed on the counter attack.
We are great at absorbing pressure and countering. In Tashkent, Uzbekistan will have to score early in order to break us down. If you don't score early, Iran will just sit back and strike on the counter attack.

4 Won,
3 Draws,
1 Loss.
Plus the last 2 away games in Uzbekistan we beat you 0-1.

Well, we got some new promising players who didn't play in previous WCQ, such as Rashidov, Shomurodov, Sergeyev... (whose performances declined recently except for Shomurodov). I can't help wondering, GK Lobanov who failed to find a place in iranian club is regularly being chosen by the coach of Uzb as the main GK... Almosy all fans in Uzb contradict that choice... I personally afraid of his sloppy silly mistakes that will gonna cost us one day... Defenders are still the same old same old including Denisov LW - key player. The rest of the main figures, to be honest I have no confidence. Tukhtakhujaev who always been DC, now playeng in RW the weak point where the team failing to take initiative to offend.
Midfielders, the key players who can make difference are Haydarov DM, Akhmedov, Djeparov, Rashidov. We're expecting them to play the main role in the upcoming match.
Forwards. Really I'm so desparate about them, as we are seriously lacking skilled striker after Shatskikh retired... Sergeyev is the main man in the front but, in the last stage with such kind of strikers a team struggles to qualify to WC. Luckily Geynrikh is in his form recently, but he is a mood player, can't play stable...
I am hoping that Uzb will dominate game with ball posession, passing, but in the box I'm afraid we can't do anything usefull... So we ll see...

Similarity Iran has a team that not only fights but has depth. Depth in experience in performance, stamina and in professionalism and an internationally recognized coach that has taught key tactics and implements a solid game plan. With this said and our head to head results I believe the Uzbeks have a much less chance of winning at home or otherwise. But it's football and only God can predict who's going to win.

This shows that their tactics were read easily by the Aussie coach and dealt with in Abu Dhabi.

winning against qatar for iran is always been hard since the come with their shitty tactics of staying on the ground and play mind games. uzbekistan won because qatar played open.. they always do against other opponents. but against iran they come with their shitty tactic.
uzbekistan is going to have a tough time.. especially if the players are fit and have played abit more together. i wont say the match will be easy since no match is. syria or japan or argentina.. all the same difficulty.. only different circumstances in which it makes a match more or less difficult.

On paper we have the stronger team but I am afraid their RW gives us a hard time. Our LB position is our weakest point. CQ should think about this and not use HajiSafi again. I suggest we use Mohamad Ansari from Persepolis in LB position and have Danial Mahini of SS Khuzestan as our RB back up.
