I think he meant current midfielders.

True, you could make a solid argument that Javad had a better career, but not Ando, and I love Ando.

Azmoun is no daei. Daei is a tall target man. Azmoun is a balance of trades. Dribbling, jumping, finishing.

Ezzatollahi is diff than Bagheri. Bagheri is to Gerrard what Ezzatollahi is to Pogba.

The one I can see are PAG to Rezaei but he slowed it with going to China and Qatar. Rezaei was ridiculous being in Serie A at one of its peaks of defensive quality.

Too many of Irans players are unique in a way.

For example, I've never seen any footballer use Mahdavikias move to dribble. He would take on two people and slow down and then accelerate in between them at a side to side dribble.

Hashemians headers were about placement(Japan2005) and Azmouns are about power.

In the first case, I really hope not, otherwise we'd be in real trouble with a big hole in our defense!!!!

In the second case, he's already better than Minavand! lol

Azmoun is more a Hashemian (hopefully more succesfull) than a Daei, style wise.
JB has nothing to do with Karimi, could be compared to young nikbakht tho (length, speed, power, scoring ability)
Ezzi is most comparable to Nekou
Mohammdi looks like kaebi (speed, lenght)
That's pretty much it, I think.

            do you guys have more?
Gucci is unfortunately too old to reach hashemian's level.

Our biggest problem in Iran is our league itself and of course our players mentality. Talent wise we have some wonderful prospects but for some reason many of them dissappear once they turn 20-21 or just turn into some IPL stars and theyre done once reaching 25-26. I blame it on the infrastructure and lack of professionalism of our league but also to our players mentality, who don't get out of their comfort zone.

I will tell a story which I always tell my friends when we talk about Iran's football. I just had satellite at the time and I turned on Irib 2. And if I'm not Iran playing against Uzbekistan. I realized after a few seconds that it was the Omid team. I was impressed by two players and wrote their names on a paper. It was borhani and kazemian. I was like wow those 2 are head and shoulders above the rest. Well the rest is history, none as 99% of our young talents made it.

For Gucci to be better than Hashemian he would have to score 16 goals in the Bundesliga. Not happening.

Exactly, Reza has been a good player with the national team. However on club level, he failed to impress. He spent more time traveling to Tehran for tm duty than on the pitch with his teams. Well I hope he will have a good year with herenveen though
