Okay last post before it's closed to answer you. Don't we hold ceremonies yearly because of it? I remember IRIB regularly giving tribute to those people that lost their lives at the Iran-Iraq war... though I rarely ever watch Iranian programming (except TM)

There is some of husseins qoutes here. There is also the source. And in the war in Tabarestan, hussein was in charge for arabs and many iranians got killed.
