Pourghaz is highly overrated and he got cut anyways. Im expecting to see PAG and Hosseini at the back.

I thought he got cut too but he indeed is still with the team. He is in the training pics from today, go ahead and check it out in the live report thread. He is not as bad as some think but I would have definitely rather seen a younger CB like ahle shakheh from foolad or koroushi there. He is also good on set pieces which we know CQ loves.

First half:

Reasoning: We have to bring it fast in the first half. We have to take control of the game offensively and not let them have early chances. With these two strikers the wings can set up reza on a run or a cross to Azmoun. With the two strikers we will need tWo DM. I also have Pourghaz playing as CB as he is bigger than Pouraliganji, and I don't feel like Uzbekistan's speed will be of threat to us, more so their size.

Reasoning: Mohammadi and ghafouri have both proven to have a lot stamina, therefore they won't need to be replaced. Ando is more of the DM that stays further back, and he can control the midfield alone, with the help of Hajsafi. Since Hajsafi is a long range shooter, and strong defensively and offensively, this position he can help set up plays, help Ando in defense, and take long range shots. Would bring on Ansarifard for Azmoun later in the half as Azmoun seems to gas out around 65th minute while Reza has shown to have a lot of stamina in the dutch league this season. Ansarifard is a great set up striker, and CF, he has good speed and passes, more so than his eye for goal, he can help in a more play-making role with reza and the wings. Torabi would be brought on for Dejagah as he gases and he is deadly in the final minutes with his speed and dribbles.
Prediction: Iran 2-0.

interesting line-up....very experimental and I like it for the most part. I personally think that ansarifard should be on the wing he has great vision and speed. He will also have more time on the ball on the flank as opposed to the middle of the park where he sometimes struggles.
