I just say one thing. We are one of the best defensive national teams in the world. Three games, three clean sheets and our keeper barely needed to make a save in all three matches. No single shot on goal by Uzbekistan on their homesoil. In CQ we trust...

Great game! Amiri sucked but the important thing is we won. Now, let's get ready for Korea

Honestly the offensive and defensive display by our players were such contrasts that I can only rate the defenders well.
The midfielders and forwards were way too mistake prone.

Our defense in the air is probably one of the best in the world (yes I'm not exaggerating).
Our defense on the ground is a bit slow but we'll get better.
Our attack is very worrying. We really need a solid healthy energetic playmaker. Dejagah and Shojaei are injury prone and stamina is weak.

As a team we were great.
Uzbekistan was not good and CQ planned against them beautifully.

Seyed Jalal is a legend and will go down as one of our all time greats.

Our next 3 games will be our toughest! I know its seems counter intuitive, but these are the types of situations that we get complacent.
Things are very much in our hands, thank God.

To everyone who is saying Amiri should have scored at the end, yes he could have but if you look at the replay it wasn't an easy chance at all. By the time he got the ball Lobanov was already on top of him. Again, doable but not easy.

Uzbeks looked really shaky on all fronts, and we should have scored another goal! but an away win is a win is a win!! we also lost lots of possession, other good teams will punish us .....

CQ saved Ando, JB, Azmoun ... on bench most of of the games keeping them ready for the tough game against South Korea knowing that they can get red card or get injured during this dificult game. He trained the non legioners
and tired the UZ until the last minuttes hoping they can score the second goal and finish every thing. Unfortunately Amiri wasted that one. I expected Torabi in left side. But CQ get good point by me.
Iran could have scored more goals in the begining.
We now should focus on S korea. UZ can win china and top us if we lose or tie.

I agree with all of you that man of the match is
Hosseini but I'm gonna have to split the MOM between hoessini and pouraliganji !! Oh man was he solid !!! Every header every ball that came
                    Into our
                    Box these two
Guy cleared it!!! Beautiful to see !!!!

Beiranvand - 7 (wasn't really tested, had nice exits)

Rezaeian - 7 (some good crosses + movement, was beaten on defense a few times though)
Hosseini - 9 (can't ask for anymore from him, solid defensively, and scored the game winning goal)
Pouraliganji - 7.5 (played well overall)
Mohammadi - 6.5 (not too great, not too bad either. Needs to work on his crosses and defending)

Hajsafi - 6.5 (not impressive today, despite not being pushed into LB he should have done better)
                        Ezzatollahi - 7 (good overall)
Shojaei - 8.5 (wow, excellent game. Masoud has really found himself since his move, great dribbles, stamina (can't believe this!), and passes)
Taremi -5 (I did not know he was playing until near the end of the first half. He did nothing out there)
Amiri - 5.5 (terrible. Been terrible for a long time. All he has is speed/stamina, the guy can't shoot, pass, dribble, or cross. Play JB, Dejagah, or Hajsafi on the wing instead of him please)

Ghoochannejhad - 6.5 (nothing too impressive, but also wasn't effective. However he hustled a lot)

                        --------------------------------------

Teymourian - 6.5 (did what he had to do as a sub)
Jahanbakhsh - 4 (didn't do much after he came on)
Azmoun - 3 (poor performance for the time he was on)

Overall: We played well in the first half. I was surprised we started to sit back with only a one goal lead, but Carlos knows how to defend. Three clean sheets in WCQ, and uzbekistan didn't even get a shot on target! Despite going all out attack, at home, not a single shot on net!!! That is crazy you guys. I think if Masoud keeps this up, we have found a possible solution to our AMF/ playmaker problem. I have had years of rage towards the way Masoud performed in TM, but now I am very happy with him , he lead the offense today. It seems like JB and Dejagah were not fit despite what carlos said, but hopefully they can play against korea and now they will be rested. This was a huge win for us guys, other than the Korea matches this on paper should have been our most difficult game, and we dominated! Second half we defended well and we did what we had to do. Well done boys

I thought Amiri and Taremi looked lost and were more of a liability but other than that great team-work from the boys (maybe with the exception of Azmoun still not hustling for those headers).

Rezaeian is the player that stuck out the most for me with a good solid performance (except that foul at the end). Mohammadi also settled into his position well and I think he played better than Ehsan has been playing in that position.
