The other group is very weak from what I've seen.
Saudi has been pulling wins out of their arse.

Then you have not seen Taremi at top form bro., the guy can be a beast - MUCH better than Shahbazzadeh - but I do agree that currently he is not playing well as usual.

1st goal looks to be offside

and 2nd goal is almost a copy of Nekounam's goal vs. Korea at Azadi!

From minute one you could tell Iran had a plan in mind to play their game, and by the final whistle the conclusion was that we certainly had a plan for the entire game and it went smooth and we won by how smartly we played.

Defensive tactic was indeed worrisome and nerve-racking for the most part, but the bright side was that our defensive play was absolutely well calculated and beautifully carried out and it paid off.

Although we played a somewhat defensive game, but we definitely created quite a lot of scoring opportunities, and had our players and in particular strikers been more precise with their finishing touches, we would have easily won this match with a 4-5 goal margin, and that by itself means we had a good display and day!

                    Beiranvand - 7
Rezaeian - 6 (His terrible header followed by his foul behind the penalty box could have been costly)
                    Hosseini - 9
                    Pouraliganji - 7
                    Mohammadi - 6.5
                    Hajsafi - 6
                    Ezzatollahi - 6
                    Shojaei - 7
                    Taremi -6
                    Amiri - 4
                    Ghoochannejhad - 5.5
                    --------------------------------------
                    Teymourian - 6
                    Jahanbakhsh - 5
                    Azmoun - 4

Because KSA is excessively hot daytime, and all their games are always played late at night.

The other group is definitely less complicated and easier than ours.

BTW having watched Uzbekistan vs Iran highlights on The-AFC YouTube channel makes one who didn't watch the whole match think Uzbekistan created more scoring chances. They showed 2-3 of their shots gone wide (Barely anything close to a threat) yet kept our 100% sitters out of the highlights. I was ticked off by it big time!
                          Here is the clip:

I think both Hosseini and Shojaei deserve to be the MOTM. Hosseini for being a rock-solid defender and Shojaei who is starting to carry the team with his experience and leadership! They will be the key to World Cup qualification. Decent game from the team, much better than what I have seen from the Qatar and China game. These 3 points are in the bag and we can look with confidence to the Korea encounter.

I thought Seyed Jalal and Rezaian (whom I never rate) were the best today, Shojaei was good for about 60 minutes too. I was really disappointed by Amiri, Taremi and Azmoun once he came on.
