We aren't girls why do we care of men's looks? I worry that a new person would come see this thread and start wondering about whether PFDC is a football website or TMZ celebrity gossip 2.0.
Again, who cares. Dumb conversation. Please end it. Thanks.
Why do people even care what Spyder says? Clearly people who hate on their "own" people are just extending their own psychological insecurities about thier own family/relatives (subgroup) to a larger group. They do this to avoid feeling lonely and marginal. He even fails to use the word Persian Gulf and is against it.

All you have to do was see girls from all over the world gush and love the look of our players on social media during the World Cup. It was quite ubiquitous.

We're leading the group so let Iran's haters look for absurd ways to hate and demean our TM's accomplishments.

Go TM! Make the haters cry.

Korean Players Remarks to German Bild Newspaper:

Cheol: " in the international league, Augsburg's Koreans Ja-Cheol Koo (27) and Dong-Won Ji (25) are again frequenting their national team. In total, they take 22 250 kilometers in eleven days by plane. First they play in the World Cup qualification today in their home in Suwon against Qatar. Then we continue to Tehran, where Iran is waiting for Tuesday.

Koo admits: "I've played before. This is not a normal city for me, I'm afraid. "His memories are not the best. The offensive man: "The city is old, people are unfriendly to me. All houses or apartments are barred, no idea why? "

However, Koo knows the city only from the bus: "Our manager said we should only stay in the hotel and do not walk outside. This is quite stressful when you are always together. From Tehran I know only the hotel, the training ground and the stadium. Often we also have a police escort. "

Also the experiences in the stadium were not so good. Koo: "I've played around the world, but I've never seen anything like that in the stadium. It is always sold out with 100 000 people. The last time we lost 0: 1. Nevertheless, after the whistle, the spectators presented us with water cups and other objects. We had to get out of the stadium. "

The guy is obviously a moron for saying such things ahead of a WCQ away game against an arch rival.

But if you remove the fact that a Korean person said these things about Tehran/Iran, you have to agree that there is some truth to it.

Iran, and to a lesser extent, the city of Tehran, still look like an ancient country/city because of widespread neglect and horrible city/urban planning. The buildings are old and poorly built, traffic is horrible, people still get out of their cars and stab each other to death over a fender-bender on a regular basis, public transportation is a nightmare, and the city/country suffers from wide-spread disorganization and lack of proper planning.

The situation in Iranian stadia is just as bad. How many times have we seen or heard stories about fans throwing stones, lighters and water bottles at the players during IPL games? A few years ago, two Japanese fans and an Iranian security guard got hit by a flare and were blinded (I believe the Japanese spectator died) at a WCQ game, ffs.

Yeah, Korean fans threw bottles at our team in the last WCQ. I remember Arsenal fans throwing plastic bottles at Adebayor after he provoked them when playing for Man City. It happens everywhere, that's true, but again, when you remove the fact that this is a Korean person saying these things, you'll notice that it's not too far from the truth. We complain about these things all the time--it's just worse when somebody else mentions it.

that was at a persepolis-sepahan game not a japan-iran game. if that happened during an international match we wouldnt be allowed to have spectators for the next 100 years.

I think he is mixing up couple matches

Like you mentioned the hand made grenade thing (not flare but what in Iran we call "Narenjak") happened at Sepahan - Persepolis match and to my recollection no one died. A soldier did get hurt though

Then there is the 2005 Iran - Japan WCQ match in Tehran during Nowruz holidays. I believe there was a stampede and couple people passed away, no Japanese though.

Will Ando's forearm ever heal?? It has been in a cast for like 3-4 years now? What is happening?

On another note, physically our team looks so fit and healthy. Everyone looks muscular, low body fat, and mentally happy. CQ and his coaching staff have created a hell of a team. Now we are getting our tactics down better and better. Teams can't score against us, and we have officially moved from a 70 minute team to a 90+ team. I am so proud of everyone, and we will beat Korea.

When was the last time you were in Tehran?
There is very little truth to it. Tehran is a lot nicer (and arguably safer) than most of the cities Korean NT members would travel to for away games, so no, he's still talking out of his ass, or more likely he's letting his overwhelming negative preconceptions effect his impression of the city.
In terms of public spaces and architecture much of Tehran is far from being ugly and old.

Tehran has better public infrastructure and city planning than Los Angeles.
I was going to post something quite similar to your response. I was there last summer.

Plenty of green spaces, new roads, nice highways and a functional subway system.
The planting and landscaping is also very nice. I think you are right he probably hasn't been back for a while

Tehran changes drastically every year and gets better and better. Being there in 2006 vs 2015 was wayyy different. Even 2012 vs 2015 was significantly different.
