So what will our ranking be now with a tie against Korea and a win against Syria?

I think it will be around 20-21 depending on other nation's results.

Unfortunately, TM will then dip until the world cup because of likely having fewer friendlies than a lot of other teams, even though friendly matches are skewed less in terms of points.

It is nice to have good ranking but or at 20th place one has to be able to deeat the lousy korean team comfortably. We did not use all of the best players. Maybe we should have to show the Koreans who the king of Asia is. The japanese did not hold back and kicked the rear ends of Aussies. Anyway we need to defeat Syria by as many goals as we can. No player from any team that has been demoralized to be used. Only Saipa, Parse jonoobi and perspolis and of course the european based players to be used. Later everyone that you like can be used by CQ in friendly matches . If we use the same players that played against Korea we may lose in the next game .

I reckon we gonna have a free fall in the rankings now after that last minute draw at home

A draw at home with a team which is so much lower in ranking is really going to bite us in the A$$. Thanks to our defense falling asleep in the dying minutes.

I read that FIFA is going to change the rules for this whole ranking anyway.

Us being 20th or 30th doesn't change the game
Iran deserves better, TM deserves better.

We will drop about 3-5 places in the next FIFA ranking.

We will still be in the top 30.

Even if we beat both togo and Russia we will still have a free fall in the next ranking and be in the 30s, we are even in danger of not being first in asia for the first time in forever if we lose both games and australia wins both of its games against syria.

There is only one conclusion to make about the next FIFA ranking, and that is as follows:

                      We are fooked

I'd rather we play against decent teams and gain experience instead of worrying about FIFA rankings.

IFF should protest right now, before Syria - Australia match to FIFA because of FIFA Ranking system, and points, if Australia really can over jump us in the next Fifa ranking. We should now send a letter, and point this out for the coming World Cup group draw...

                          If
IRAN win both matches vs. Russia and Togo (these are friendlies and we get less points because of factor), we will have: 807 points.
If we lose BOTH matches vs togo and Russia, we will fall back to 755 points.

                          If

AUSTRALIA win both matches in 90 minutes, they will have: 758 points (from 662 right now):

So we should minimum draw one of the both matches, or better say, let us win vs. Togo, to stay in pole position vs. Australia.
By the way, I checked the FIFA ranking, and compared Iran, Japan, Korea and Australia. the only team which can take pole position is Australia, IF we lose both matches, and Aussies win both matches within 90 minutes.

A draw is enough to stay in front of the rest. The Togo friendly is now more important and clever to chose not a very strong African side, to collect the needed points.
Japan will play Haiti and New Zealand (maximum 737 wining both matches) , Korea will play Russia and Morocco (maximum 663, wining both matches).
It seems saudis did not organize friendlies according to Fifa.

We better draw or win vs. togo...

If we didn't play togo at all we would have so much more points it's playing a team that's ranked 121 in the world that is doing so much damage to us but I guess better them than nobody right lol. We should choose our opponents more wisely now that fifa rankings determine seeds
