Now we should focus on our game against Syria. They showed that they are a very dangerous team.
They were able to tie Korea, beat China and lost in doha very unluckily.

We were able to beat our toughest oponnents S.Korea and Uzbekistan, but we also have
        to beat the underdogs!
Hope that our boys stay on the ground and take every game as serious as the korean game.

          Agree.

Syria hit Qatar post and could easily tie the game which they lost. Syria has two dangerous players who can score. I would be happy with four points from Syria. Two wins at home, Iran should qualify directly.

My wish is for Uzbek and Iran to qualify directly and S. Korea play in the playoff. S. Korea will also qualify to 2018 Russia.

Always love the respect East Asians show for good football. They are fair and nuanced. Unlike our neighbours.

                  Thank you for the article!

Koreans are very mad at their coach. Apparently he said he needs better forwards - like Qatar's Soria!!!!

That mentality should be for every team. We shouldn't down play any of the opponents. Just because Syria has been at war for the past 5 years doesn't mean their team is not prepared for this, on the contrary it probably gives them more of a determination to come out and win.

I am ecstatic that we won against South Korea. I just wish that draw against China was also a win for TM. It would've been an amazing sight to see our team dominate the top of the group.

First time in a long time that I'm walking away from a match against major opposition with such quality, positive feelings. We were dominate and, if anything, should've won by a greater margin.

Also, to see CQ and staff do such a great job respecting the government mandated traditions was tremendous (Ex: in attire, behavior, etc). Truly a unified front -- he is doing a MARVELOUS job.

Yes he did say that, I watched his post-match interview yesterday and was surprised to hear him say such thing. Here is the video:

That is one of the many spices of sports and in particular football. If certain teams always kept beating all their opponents, traditionally making it to the finals at ease and without smallets stress/concerns, the excitement and fun of the game would have as well died down.

Little bloopers and slipups like this make such amazing sports more exciting and desirable to follow and watch!

Wow. that's really bad!!!! Never seen a coach do this before. Not sure if he is going to last the rest of the tournament.
