Good, never liked him. From day one he was installed as the Youth Sports minister, he created chaos and relentless noise with TM. Not to mention him threatening our female futsal player in the airport and in front of the camera for having criticised him and other people in charge.

The more of such riddance, the better for the country!

Apparently, Davarzani (IVF-president) is the potential candidate to take over.

That would be awesome. He is one of the few competent managers in Iran.

Hopefully Dr. Assadi will be on his way out too, now that his daddy is gone.

I remember a few years ago, there were indirect talks of Ali Daie taking on that position. I think he is much better suited for this position than any other individual in Iran.

Unfortunately, there is no way any independent and at the same time popular person will ever get elected/selected for any governmental positions in the Islamic Republic. This is the truth. Their vetting and filtering started since the revolution.

It won't happen, this is for several reasons. Daei prefers coaching, He just doesn't have the temperament for such positions, just like how this imbecile Goodarzi didn't. We don't want someone with feisty personality to get in verbal fights and law suits on an ongoing basis. We see Daei always and every single week in his post-match press conferences complaining about referees, accusing them of such and such.

Plus such key governmental positions need influential/Dastmaalkesh people, someone from football family as well, like Ansarifard, and even Dadkan

Another potential candidate is Dadkan. Iranians have flooded Rouhani's Instagram and asked him to appoint Dadkan as minister. Would be a good choice.

He was hopeful to get that job during Ahmadinejad but at that time َANejad was thinking of Abbasi & Aliabadi.
