Peiravani pays tribute to Iran senior team coach Queiroz's influence

    http://www.the-afc.com/u-19-champion...rozs-influence

Amir Peiravani paid tribute to the influence of senior national team coach Carlos Queiroz as Islamic Republic of Iran qualified for the finals of the FIFA U-20 World Cup Korea Republic 2017 for the first time in 16 years with victory over Uzbekistan in the quarter-finals of the AFC U-19 Championship Bahrain 2016 on Monday evening.

Reza Jafari scored a goal in each half to give the Iranians a win that takes them into the semi-finals of the continental championship and ensures they take one of the fourth berths available at the competition in Korea Republic next year.

And head coach Peiravani thanked the former Real Madrid and Portugal head coach for the impact he has had on football in Iran since taking over as national team coach five years ago.

“It’s been a long time since the Iranian U-19 team could go to the World Cup, we’ve had good players but we haven’t had the chance to go,” said Peiravani. “Today, I wanted to change my players’ mentality so we could succeed.

“This success isn’t just for me, this success is for the coaches who are working with all of the teams in Iran, the U-16s, the U-19s and U-23s at all of the clubs and all over Iran. This success I dedicate to my colleagues who have helped me in this job.

“It’s especially for the instructors who have taught me and I would like to give special thanks to Carlos Queiroz, the head coach of the national team. So many times in our meetings he was with me and he helped me to change the programme and to bring success.”

Defensively, this team is pretty solid - as you can see really we've had four clean sheets (1st game our own player put it in, it was a fluke). The problem is the lack of a passing game and build-up play. Otherwise, this team can be something special if it has the right tactics.

I think Omid Noorafkan and Mohammad Soltanimehr do an excellent job marshaling the midfield, but they need the proper space to operate.

Who would have thought years ago that Iran would be so solid defensively through their ranks.

was watching some first half action from u19 vs Japan this morning and in the game vs Oman, i noticed some CQ influence in our defensive organization in MF and backline when we would loose possession..!!

i was sure he was trying to emulate the Senior TM style of play especially on the defensive front..!!

glad he made it clear with these after game comments..!! damesh garm..!!

              Ps
regardless of CQ tactical advice, Kudos to Peyravani himself for drastically improving his teams chemistry and organization after the cluster-fk of performance i saw in their first game vs Gutter..!!
with a bit of luck i think and continued improvement of our team play, i think we can even take the crown in this tourney..!!

it seem CQ influence is gaining popularity in younger coaches and tm youths, however we still have dinasour coaches in the league, the only coach who is good to be iran coach(not head coach) ,is faraki, he has experience as a player as a coach, the rest are dinasours

I personally thought they were very much Queiros inspired when I watched the first few matches if only just from the high press they were doing every match. The attitude of the team though... Not CQ like really. Needs work there.

All the Peyrovani brothers are really good people. It starts with Gholamreza who produced the best talents in Shiraz without any money and the worst conditions you could think of. We need more People like the Peyrovani's in our football, definetley.

It's great that all the national teams are playing with the same philosophy of a sturdy defence, and hitting on the counter attacks.

This transparency between the national teams occurs in successful countries such as Germany, where all national teams play with the same philosophy.

This can also make the transition to TM much easier for the players. Perhaps the style of play may improve the player's fitness as well from a young age.
