WARNING: Syria game is harder than first 4 games.

As a reminder, we were the only team who lost against Lebanon in the final round of WCQs 2014.

In WCQs 2010, we were the only team who dropped points against UAE.

In WCQs 2002, we dropped points against the weakest team of the group Thailand.

In WCQ 1998, we failed to win against the weakest team of the group Kuwait in both legs unlike other teams.

Conclusion: Before the draw, everyone said the group is similar to the last campaign with the addition of China and Syria is more or less equivalent of Lebanon of the previous group.

Now we see that Syria was better team than Qatar and China in the first 4 matches. Not only they are a good team and better than what people expected, also the history shows that we never get six points against these types of teams in the final round of WCQs.

Based on the history, we will fail to win this match. Yes, this is what the history says. Now what do we need to do in order to maximize our chance to win this match and create a new history? Treat this game harder than first 4 games and for me this game is as tough as the first 4 games even harder. Think that the first match of WCQs in the final round is extremely difficult but the next match is always more difficult than previous match in this round of qualifiers. Be more than 100% ready for this game. Be united for this match.

Warning! we faced against Syria many times in the past and I can never remember an easy game against them. We have chance to win this game and that must be our only aim from this game but it will be very difficult. This game is one of the hardest matches in our history of WCQs matches.

and I like to remind you of two things:

      1. as I have said before, in Carlos Qeiroz we trust.
      2. We already have a TM thread that you could have used to post your "Reminder".

plus the fact that they have already collected 4 points and are in the thick of things.

They know that they do not have a high chance to qualify but playing in the final round of qualifiers and getting every single point for teams such as Syria, Lebanon, etc is an achievement for them. Remember how they celebrated after the end of their match against Korea in Malaysia.

Another reminder. The loss to Lebanon was at the start of CQ, the rest were in TM joke eras where we did not have such a team or coach.

Baba if we loose to Syria, we should not even be allowed for Russia 2018.

I am not worried about Syria , I am worried about the Iraqi referee officiating.

We heard the same thing before our loss to Lebanon in last campaign.

Beiranvand is injured and cannot play for one month. He will miss the next match most likely.

Yeah, and our qualification was stretched to the last second. Classic agar va amma story.

Every game in the final WCQ stage should be treated seriously no matter who the opponent is. Im sure CQ will have the boys in the right mindset.

What I am hoping is that since Syria still has a chance to qualify, but needs wins, they will not just park the bus against us. The games we have the most difficulty in are ones against arab teams who just sit back and we are unable to create any scoring chances. Hopefully Syria will try to chase the game a bit. If they do sit back an early set piece goal for us would be ideal.

Anyway, if we play like we did against SK, then we really should have nothing to worry about. TMs performance against SK was probably the most well rounded TM game I have ever watched against an opponent of that caliber in a game of that importance. This is the most confident I have ever been in our team, but that does not mean I am overlooking Syria or any of our remaining opponents.
