I think we are being too harsh on a team that has not had proper preparation. Portugal is European semi-finalist.

The only issue I see is too many long balls. we look good when we take Portugal on the wings if not so much holding and passing the ball in the middle.

I really hope we win this game, so the Portuguese can see that we are talented. Always feels good to win against an UEFA side.

Costa Rica is also beating Zambia 1-0 if they score more or we score more we can end up in first place and get one of the third place teams in the next round, If we finish 2nd we get Korea , if the wc was in a neutral ground that would have been fine as Korea is not that strong and would probably lose to us like they did to the Saudis in Asian qualifiers but since the game is in Korea they're going to be favourites and tough to beat at home. Also if our match ends in a draw and Costa Rica wins we will qualify as one of the best third place teams most likely and will face the likes of Venezuela who have been really good so far but I prefer south American opponents to Korea at home as we always play good against south American and get good results .

our counter attacking game is way too lethargic and hapless and leaves much to be desired, i dont even think our coaches have prepared for such a thing ???
jafari has done well, but seems awful isolated uptop and anytime we get the ball boys try to send him a long pass which often gets intercepted.
good thing is that we havent put in too much effort like the portugese this half and have a better chance of matching Portugese superior team fitness in 2nd half....!!
hopefully chose bacheha dar nemire too early in 2nd half and we can see this victory through

Nothing much to write about, granted.
But some of you chaps seem to expect SENIOR level standards from these kids. Yes, they are kids and coached by not so qualified coach too.

Keep it cool. Can't expect composure or match handling similar to nekounam or teymourian from these kids.

Besides the opponent is also same age and stress has a way of getting under lower age category. Faster and deeper.
Let's see which set of kids can ward off the stress longer

I'd say our DMs ought to work harder.
At least make it harder for reds passers to give through passes.
In defense it looks like 532 and the mids need to be more compact.

The reds don't seem too keen on wing play and like to pass thru the middle.
The 3 mids should work harder and closer to each other to block that
