anybody think shekari can go somewhere better than rostov? If indeed the contract is not finalized, I think he should review other options. He would be going to an ultra defensive, physical league and team. He is far too talented for that. Wish basel would come back in with an offer...

Shekari did a good thing he took rostov opportunity.
I am not sure any other european would go after him seeing even how they snub iranians in general (and so hesitant to go after azmoun these days)

The europeans will go after the numerous exotic nationalities that did well in this u20 wc : venezuela uruguay zambia korea etc..

exactly. We cant rely on one measly attack per half. And even when we did, look how dangerous we were. Peiravani did not find the right balance and went far too defensive, basically taking away from the teams strong point which was the more attacking players, midfielders...

It's actually quite sad that Shekari is going to end up in Rostov. Doesn't fit his talent level nor his playing style...

Sorry guys.. but when was the last time we achieved anything with an Iranian coach in football?

This is why we need a coach like CQ and we don't even know how lucky we are to have him. As when you cannot defend, no matter how many goals you score, you still lose the games. And we saw this bitter truth in our last 2 matches. Let's keep this talented young team and hire a better foreign coach and see the difference.

The answer does not need to be foriegn, I believe that Mahdavikia would be the prefect candidate, hiring someone foreign for a youth team is quite hard. Even Hashemian probably has learned more than our current coaches in Iran. The most impressive coach in Iran who is Iranian at the moment I would say is Ali Daei, who has progressed and developed a style at least and is not just bezan ziresh kind of manager

Reminded me of the games iran used to play 5-6 years ago, score one goal and defend around the box, and just blindly clear the ball up field. Thank goodness those days are gone and I hope they don't come back any time soon... All because of CQ... thank you CQ

Very selfish and individualistic. Missed the best occasion for Iran around late 70' when he didn't passed the ball to the left where Shekari was alone and went instead to dribble the whole Central Defense of Portugal which resulted in huge miss.

Huh? We lost to Bosnia Herzegovina in world cup exactly due to this. Defense until we conceded. One day I accurate saying we will beat European competition.

It really doesn't matter. We know only two players were good in entire team. Reza Shekari showed he is decent forward and scored 3 goals. That was enough. Nourafkan has enough exposure in ACL with SS already. The rest of the team were average and could perhaps advance to R16 and then get eliminated. We lost nothing special with this team. We knew the defense line was horrible and our coach was clueless. As long as IFF does not give a crap about youth development this is the maximum level we can achieve. If most of our clubs follow the path of Foolad, Sepahan, or Kia Academy we can have good talents to work with but we need a competent football association to hire proper foreign or local coaches. We go no where with random coaches with no resume. It happened in U23 level and it will happen with U17 as well Mr. Chamanian is not good enough for WC level.

We should either work on our weaknesses (Youth development and proper management) or we have to lower our expectation. Anyway, I congratulate our team specially our midfielders and forwards for doing their best. They are young and had the opportunity to represent us in world cup. Considering the circumstances they were not so bad.
