Aref is definitely not a CB for me he was quite bad every time he played there, but once he was shifted on the right he looked much more solid

He is a good RB. He started as RB for U19 early on but moved to CD as a reserve then as starter. As for CD Nima Taheri of Zobahan is muck better than him .

Also I forgot to mention Soltanimehr. He is only 17 yrs old, and the youngest player on the list (Born in 1999). He was in guardian's top 50 world talents for his age last year. Although he hasnt played as many minutes with saipa's first team this year, he is a really talented defensive mid, can win the ball back and orchestrate from deep. Hopefully him and Noorafkan can form a really strong central midfield duo if they play together. St Mark jan, can we expect these two together in the midfield for the games??


I have high hopes for all those at saipa from this team and u17's. So jafari, Shojaei, Soltanimehr, and shariati with daei coming in next season. Hopefully he can develop these youngsters further.
And overall tbh, the preparation for the u20's has been very good by iranian standards. They participated in the Granatkin Memorial in St Petersburg two months ago and played

many games against decent teams (Zenit youth, Slovenia Youth, Azerbaijan Youth, Lithuania Youth, Moldova Youth) In a short space of time, similar to the layout of a WC tournament. Also a two week training camp in Germany/Denmark with friendlies against Hamburg Youth, and two or three danish/german lower tier sides (it was middle of league season in those countries so not the best teams were available). Plus they managed to get two friendlies against a good senegal team and which is actually excellent preparation for zambia match, considering zambia only narrowly beat senegal in youth AFCON. They got two draws with them, but were without influential players like noorafkan, derakhshanmehr, and gholami. But those players did end up all being together for at least some of the most recent training camp in tehran with rest of squad.

If you are referring to ХХIX Granatkin Memorial games in January this year it was U17 team participated one year younger.

If you are referring to ХХIX Granatkin Memorial games in January this year it was U17 team participated one year younger.

Derakhshan Mehr is 18 years old and has played as a starter (and performed really well too) during the whole 16-17 season for Zob Ahan, as well as played every minute of ZA's ACL matches. He's got the most minutes in the PGL out of all other U20 players too if Im not mistaking.
For me he has the highest ceiling of all other U20s, his position is less "flashy" than someone like Shekari but he can be a top LB imo

He is good and reliable and should play ahead of Razaghpour at LB. I am not sure if Gholami will play at RB since it seems coach like Shahsavari. During Asian Championship U19 D line was weak specially at RB & LB and when Taheri was absent as CD.

Nima Taheri only has played total of 3 minutes ( W 27 vs Peykan) but he is very important player for the team. Against Senegal Peyrovani paired him with Aghasi ( Tractor Sazi) and played Shahsavari as RB and Gholami did not start.

Ironically Aghasi also has played only 3 minutes during W27.

وی درباره پست بازی خود گفت:من در دفاع آخر بازی می کنم.

به گزارش سایت رسمی فدراسیون فوتبال،در پایان تمرین امروز تیم جوانان در جزیره ججو،امیر حسین پیروانی،سرمربی تیم جوانان شاگردان خود را به دور هم جمع کرد تا آنها پس از پایان تمرین پرنشاطی که انجام دادند برای کسب موفقیت در جام جهانی هم قسم شوند.
تمرین روزهای اخیر تیم جوانان انگیزه خاص بازیکنان را در آستانه حضور در مسابقات جام جهانی نشان داده و این موضوع باعث خوشحالی کادر فنی شده بود.

I don't understand what is all the fear about Portugal. Their population is much smaller than Iran. Also it's not like Queiroz is giving them our U-20 secrets. Watch them closely and figure out what weaknesses exist for exploitation. Time to be smart.
