Watched the whole game.. we played ugly and terrible. Looked like a matures.. you can see what a difference cq has made in our senior team otherwise our senior team would continue to play this way

There is a difference between CQ playing defensive football or Iranian coaches without resume playing defensive football. I don't think Iranian coaches should copy CQ. They should get a proper license and good knowledge of football tactics first.Comment

This team literally couldn't put 3 good passes in a row together. I would love to know the possession stats. Wouldn't surprise me if it was 80/20. Every time our defender would possess the ball he would just put his head down and clear it down the field right to the Portuguese players. As far as the individual players go, we have couple to guys who have high technical abilities, but very low playing IQ. But this is no fault of their own. They are let down by the system.Comment

Overall this team didnt play good football but they had good moments. We cant be so quick to judge this as a failure, after all we did notch our dirst victory in the event in 40 years. I'd like to think this is a stepping stone for more progress. IFF has a ton of flaws but Iran's football has had a lot of achievements in the past 4 years, our special olympics teams won medals, beach soccer and futsal placed 3rd in the world cup, both u17 and u20 qualified for the world cup and our senior team is about to clinch a historic back to back world cup qualification. I dont think this is just a blip, by the looks of it our football is making real progress.Comment

I'm not sure what bad comments you guys are talking about. Every time I watch highlights of Iranian teams on FIFA TV, it's always filled with super nice and positive comments (Mostly from Saudi's aswell).
Don't take a small group of people's comments as a general consensus for what people think about us.Comment
