Oh well. Iran was not itself and second half they played better and could have scored two goals if they were careful. However Spain also had a good team and deserved to advanced given Iran's performance. Iran did not play similar to its previous games.

Honestly, we lost this match before it even started compliments of the weak and pathetic mentality of Chamanian who told the commentator before the match that our main objective was not to concede too many goals!
And that was pretty clear from the starting whistle. You can't actually going into a match like that expecting anything other than a loss, or hold your head up high at the end because you at least played and fought for it.
But congratulations to the boys who made it this far and did play really hard in the other 4 matches. With a another coach and the winner mentality, I'm certain we would have gone, and will in the future go, much further.

Of course we’re sad about the loss, but honestly, we must be very proud of these boys! The performance they have brought in these games is unreal. Beating Germany 4-0 with one of the best youth development systems in the world is insane!
Today, they played against boys which have been training and playing under world class conditions for up to 10 years. Our boys have never trained under world class conditions and will sadly probably never do so. All our boys have is talent and gheyrat. And they showed that both of it is enormous!
We should stop expecting unreal things from the boys (junior & senior) because the conditions we have in Iran are definitely not among the best 8 in the world. We can be happy to count our development system as one of the best 100 in the world. Still our teams manage to make it much further in terms of performance and result. Thus, respect and dame bacheha garm!
Look at teams with probably similar talent, but surely much better conditions such as e.g. Turkey, who got eliminated with only one point out of 3 games in the group stage. And the reasons why some African teams are so strong are (other than talent and passion) their physical advantages (especially in this age) and maybe even the rumor that they are faking the ages of the players (obviously not sure about that – but there are rumors).

Great job by the boys! Making the Final 8 is a great achievement. Being Asia's best at this age group is also great.
Compare the coaching, infrastructure, culture etc. that our boys have to go through and what Spain does. It's an incredible gap.
Great job by the boys and can't wait more to hear from Allahyar Sayyad, Younes Delfi, Mohammad Sharifi, Taha Shariati, Mohammad Ghobeishavi, Saeed Karimi.
Very good players. Great job by Abbas as well. Finally an Iranian coach with a UEFA pro-level coaching license. He was too cautious this game, but had an outstanding tournament regardless.Comment

Big thanks to our kids. They showed themselves on the world stage. Now it's up to them to work harder and improve because the gap between u17 and professional football is big. Not many players make it big from the u17 usually.

I know we were all frustrated by Abbas' game plan today - but if there is an Iranian coach that needs to take over our Youth teams - it's him! This will be a learning experience for him - not to play too scared against the likes of Spain. We can handle them.

please stop with the uefa pro-level coaching... we played EVERY game with long balls, football ano 1960... it was just sheer individual class and luck/destiny and worse opponents that brought us to this stage. our coach is absolutely cluelessComment
