I think the only problem with our U17 team is lack of experience for the entire coaching staff. While we may be a surprise in early games (like we did last time with Argentina U-17 and this time with Germany and Mexico) our one dimensional tactics (and holes) become obvious for more experienced teams to figure out. And once they close that we always go back to "bezan zeresh". I personally think these kids would have won the whole thing with a more experienced coach and better physical training.

I wished we brought the U-17 keeper for the Senior Team. He was a major factor in our success.

Nevertheless, with what little we have given them, they deserve the highest complements.
.... At the end I am nothing other than ordinary

Overall, they did well and congratulation to all of the players and the team.

Chamanian will be with new U16 players and there will be new talents, like of Bavieh , SHaverdi.... And hopefully Chamanian has learned from this experience.

This group will move up to U18 and some will join Pourgholami U19 team.

      This is not the End
      .

Today Saket said few of U17 players will join U19 for AFC Championship in Jordan.

بیرکل فدراسیون فوتبال تاکید کرد: در یکی دو روز آینده تعدادی از این بازیکنان را در تیم جوانانی که می*خواهد راهی اردن شود را خواهیم دید چون به کار آنها اعتقاد داریم.

I think CQ let down the team immensely against Spain.
If we had the same mentality as the group stage, I believe we would have given Spain a good run for their money and certainly we wouldn't have allowed them that much space in the middle to plan and carry out their attacks.

I am disappointed at CQ' s effect.

What did Queiroz have anything to do with this match? Am I missing something here?

Not only players gained experience at this levels, but I also think Chamanian and his staff should learn from it as well. We played the first three game with much energy compared with the last two. In front of Mexico, the team looked rather tired. Part was of course the high Humidity where they played. Part was also that Coach did not rest a few players when he should have in the Third game. Also, in the Mexican game, Chamanian should have subed much sooner. I don't really understand why he was hesitant on substitution while the team was gasping for air. The biggest lesson Chamanian and his coaching staff should learn is that there has to be more than one tactic in their strategy to win against bigger teams. Sitting back and losing the possession in the hope of an effective counter attach is ok if it is part of the strategy in a game and not the only one. He is coaching the next U16 team. Hope we will see better possession game in the new team. That Big question that remains is if he and his staff actually know how to implement such strategy in team exercises and plans. Time will tell.
Very good observation on the need to rest some key players, knowing it only gets tougher and tighter as we progress. We could have tried 4 or even 5 reserves against Costa Rica as even a loss would have seen us top the group.

I expected more from CQ who is an int'lly famous coach.

Who knows. Don't ask me. Ask all those kids who excitedly rushed to give CQ the credit for the wins.
Ironically none of those ppl utter a word about CQ after the loss!
              Surprising!!! :/

I think he's being cynical - in response to those who exaggerate and use CQ as reference for anything good in our football while he's not even linked with our youth teams.

I have lowered my cynicism towards CQ. I am rather satisfied with what he's doing at TM.
But here I am only being sarcastic. Coz every time I read those posts, I was overcome with feelings of confusion followed by disgust followed by sadness finally.

Winning mattered in every game chamanian has coached starting from asian cup last year and his team has lost, let me repeat this, one game - against spain. ( the one to iraq was on PK's). You just cant please some people no matter what. I think the majority of people here are very impressed by chamanian and u17's showing
                  Spot on.
I didn't watch the whole game. But from little bits here and there it was clear the Spaniards knew what they were doing with very sound tactics, like the Germans. But they also showed fantastic individual skills that the Germans lacked severely.

That is a deadly combo when you have top notch skills overlaid with sound tactics. Add pedigree and confidence, it almost becomes unbeatable.
I was surprised how maturely those kids played. I really didn't see much of a difference between them and their seniors.

So for a bunch of unknown Iranian kids, in unprecedented circumstances, to face them and give them a hard time (in second half), is to be admired.

The Spanish players played with experience that was far beyond their years.

As the horrible Iranian commentator repeated a thousand times these were pretty much all Barca and Real academy players with big clubs after them.

No-one here should be anything but proud of this team.

I was slightly dissapointed with our teams tactics in this one game if there is any criticism at all but man the teams these kids beat one after the other was incredible.

Sorry but all we saw today was ALI ASGHARI football, sending long balls with blind eyes from defenders into the box(and also too many bad passes even on the short distance) and they were hoping it touches someone and end up as a lucky goal. He respected the opponent too much, when you scores 10 goals in elimination round and 4 against Germany it can't be an accident. The mental preparation wasn't simply there or it failed.
He had a pretty decent strategy in group stage, Ok one against Mexico but his ultra-conservative if you can call it strategy failed today, the score would have been different if Spain could capitalize on their chances.
Very well said. The commentator on fox was saying the same thing too about the amateur tactics of aimlessly hoofing the ball up the field. It can't even be compared to CQ because he wouldn't stand for that in his team.

Don't take it to heart, that's just how this show works. They constantly make jokes and mock others and eachother. Sometimes they are really funny (especially Johan and René, the host is really bi namak imo).

The fun and great thing about this program is that they say what they think without any drawbacks or without being politically correct. This show is really unlike any other football show. For example, although it is a football show, they sometimes talk about girls, sex, politics, other sports etc. for half an hour before continuing with football again.

It's fun to watch, I rarely miss it.

Cant help but to be upset at that Spain game. Yes we have done amazing coming this far but the way we faced Spain was pathetic. They gave us space yet we chose to continuously launch the ball upfield like we have no plan or tactics. I could understand if they pressured but they didnt. We gave them too much respect and went into the game not to lose. We had no plans of trying to win.

But hats off to the boys. Looks like some have a bright future.
