in Tourney Competitions(especially youth ones) as such, staying mindful of Endurance and Fitness is far more important than keeping your winning momentum..!!
i agree with zereshk we shoulda been far more experimental with our line-up and rested key players in the meaningless game vs CR...!!
today's lackluster performance vs Mexico proved we werent nearly as Fit as a team as we thought we were...!! we were lucky not to concede more goals and give up the lead today..!! mexican's hesitancy in and around our box costed them this loss more so than anything...!! had they been more forceful and took more cracks at our goal as they penetrated near (as in late in the first half) we woulda most probably given up the lead and loose too..!!
even Allahyaar with his immense fitness, was dragging asss out there today, especially when it came to defensive marking and pressing the opposition..!!
at least we got a few days of recovery before the next match, which could prove Pivotal for our progress..!!

It's a playoff time and aim is to advance. One goal or 10, PK or not it makes no difference. Iran U17 made it To Historic QF with 4 win & +/- 10 Goals versus good teams from 3 continents.

Iran did not perform as group stage especially after 30 Minutes. Pulling back gave additional psychological edge and encouragement to Mexico that had nothing else to lose.

During playoff phase every game is different and I expect Iran to play much better than today.
      Cheers
      Go U17

Ghaderi was Iran's best player today, somehow we lost the midfielder, we actually played like our senior team, defended for the whole match but had the best goal scoring opportunities and could have scored 3-4 if boys were more opportunist. I guess a lot of factors such as high humidity, and the stress of elimination round contributed to too many individual mistakes. Spain will be tough, but this team in their good day can beat Spain, we managed to beat the same France 4-0(which Spain beat 2-1 today) a week before the start of tournament.

We beat France 3-0 and Germany 4-0, that means we have the potential to beat Spain. It will be difficult, but hopefully we can surprise them and catch them off guard similar to what we did vs germany

I think at this point it has nothing to do with fitness. Irans team is very fit and the games vs guinea, germany, costa rica proved it. Every team is tired asf because of humidity, germany was totally dead too and they are typically the fittest of all. Given that the boys are fit, I think it is more of a mental battle in these elements with the pressure of the game, definitely was the main reason we couldnt keep going today with full force. But nobody will remember this. We got the job done and thats all that matters.

im glad Spain won vs France..!!
i think the fact that Mexico had played us before, helped their coach to better prepare his team against us today and almost nullified our earlier superiority to them..!!
vs Spain we will have yet again the all important element of surprise .... im sure some cockiness will still sip into the minds of spanish players thinking we must be pushovers...!!?

Seriously, get out of here with that garbage. They give that as a yellow once in a blue moon. You don't watch any football if you think that play is a regular or even occasionally given card.

You are not being objective. Iran winning, already a little bit of time wasting. Its late game and our player decides to kick the ball to waste some more time. That warrants a yellow. Some refs wouldn't give a yellow but others do.
Delfi was in the wrong here. Not the ref. He placed himself in a situation where a yellow card can be warranted.
OK COOL IT OFF GUYS! AND STOP INSULTING ONE ANOTHER!

I didn't watch the incident, but yellows have been given in UCL matches if players boot the ball after the whistle when play is about to restart. I've seen it given before so anyone who disagrees can take a walk lol...

He kicked it 5 feet away. Watch the match next time. Oh, and it wasn't like the ball was set up to be kicked, it was right after the foul, he nudged it five feet away, and got the card. Given every match in CL!
