If the ground conditions gonna be as kiri as training pics suggest, we gonna need bigger/ more physical & direct players such as him dejagha or Ando type than the likes of shojaee, shojaeeian, & such ..!
In fact, I'm fairly sure CQ's starting line up tomorrrow will be pretty evident of it too. ..!?

      Ps
It's a tough choice who to pick to partner up Hossaini @ CB..!?
Normally I'd prefer montazeri..! But he may be still rusty coming off injury layoff..!
PAG is solid backup normally but he plays awful kalekhari & I fear he might concede a PK in bad weather conditions ..!??

Special times calls for special plans.
Weather Reports suggest 80% chance of rain with Thunderstorm.
        Not Good!!!!

Gotta throw away technical skills and ball position football under such conditions.
Lucky for us, We are a football nation with plenty of experience in "Bezan Ziresh" football.

We need not rush to score. and knowing Carlos, I am sure we won't. Remember this is a home game for Syria. they are out if they lose. pressure is on them.

I think given the field and the weather conditions We need more physical players out there tomorrow.
Ashkan, Taremi, Kamyabinia, Rezaiean as R wing, Badamaki as R back and even Ali Karimi in addition to Ezzi. that's 3 DMs.
        And all three can score.

usually id agree with your thoughts on PAG but in both of our last 2 qualifiers he was not just one of the best on the pitch, but also one of the smartest. stood out a lot to me tbh...he has earned my full trust. he was THE best player vs china too come to think of it.
          Team Meli Iran
          Perspolis FC
          Malavan Bandar Anzali

i agree that he has played pretty solid of late in absence of montazeri, but he does have those nasty tendencies i mentioned, he wasnt really tested either vs china and even the korean attack was mostly neutralized by our MFdrs..!!

Pejman is more in-tune with Hossaini and entire defense-line and certainly comfortable with the ball at his feet, but in water-polo pitch conditions PAG Seems a more suitable option..!!
besides, likeliness of us scoring from a set piece in such conditions is higher than from the run of play, and PAG certainly is a bigger goal-scoring threat from set-pieces than Pejman and has the energy and youth to contribute offensively and still quickly retrieve back to his defensive duties ..!

i am not worried about the rain, since we had some training and experience in the pitch

I totally agree with you. He is as worthless as Bohrani and enayati was...that's why I don't think we will score if he starts cause he is more of a f"$k up then then goal scorer. I Don't look at his IPL goals

Like others have mentioned, any hope for technical football is a thing of the past during tomorrow's game. Carlos will most likely put forward a lineup that is strong, physcial and lethal in the air.

Since passing will be difficult under the slop that we're about to see don't expect a clean and crisp game of football. Going to be a mud-bath, and with the Syrians just as motivated to obtain something positive from the match, expect a ferocious affair

                    My predicted line-up:

                    -----------------Makani-----------------
                    Rezaeian-Montazeri-PAG-Mohammadi
                    ---------Ezatollahi-Ebrahimi-----------
                    Jahanbakhsh--Dejagah-----------Amiri
                    ------------------Gucci------------------

Expect Syria to pack the box and counter. I predict a 3-0 if we score in the first half, and a 1-0 victory if we don't. They are looking for a point against us. Of course they'll take the win if we absolutely hand it to them, but I think they see us as the top team in the group and will be looking to get a point out of the meeting. That would be a victory for them.

I really hope Gucci doesn't have the jitters early on. He's great at scoring late in the game, but sometimes he misses absolute sitters in the first half. I hope that he will avoid this against Syria and drain any opportunities he may get.

We have 3 games that from our point of view are very interesting to follow today:

                      1. Syria - Iran (for obvious reasons)

                      2. South Korea - Uzbekistan (A draw is the best result for us)

                      3. Japan - Saudi Arabia (hope for a demolition by the Japanese)

                        All our goals against Syria.

Nekounam seems to have been Syria killer:

i wonder if the game will even finish with this rain pouring down

I'm afraid we won't win. We are really good in messing up those games against underdogs. Plus it's play in the far east under poor circumstances, so this is the classic point dropping match unfortunately.
