Maybe because there wouldn't be a single emirati in Iran whereas there was a few thousand Iranians in the stadium today. UAE is barely even an Arab country anyways. There are probably more people of Iranian origin there than Arab.

Samung and the tourney organizers are paying dearly for hosting facilities and they have every right to provide their event's fans with any sorta of appropriate entertainment..! im sure, if UAE gov. had any hand in the organization of this tourney they woulda picked on such details too, but such touristic event hosting is their economic bread and butter, so they look the other way and do not jeopardize the well being of their economy of their lil country ..!!
but i agree to jest of your point that in order to become more popular worldwide Iranians also badly need to make significant effort to become less prejudicial and more open-minded ..!
