Qatar got a harsher punishment than Iran.

Ahmad Yassir ,Abdulkareem Hassan (their best player), Meshal abdallah, and Khaled Meftah all got banned for 2-3 games each the QFA was fined 25000 euros.


They are at the bottom of the group with a do or die match against China, and their next game after that is against Iran, so their best two defenders are missing the game.

- Iran: Fined CHF 40,000 + warning for Improper conduct among supporters, Unauthorized persons in the field of play, Team misconduct
+ Fined CHF 45,000 + reprimand + warning, for Religious ceremony organised before the game and at half-time, Use of a drone during the ceremony, improper conduct among spectators (religious banner)

- Carlos Queiroz: Warning because of "Declarations during a press conference" and "Did not respect the technical area on multiple occasions"

- Ehsan Hajsafi: Fined CH 5,000 for "Unsporting behaviour", banned for 2 matches.

- Sardar Azmoun: Fined CH 5,000 for "Unsporting behaviour", banned for 1 match.

- Javad Nekounam: Fined CH 5,000 for "Unsporting behaviour" and banned 6 matches, of which 3 match are suspended for a probationary period of 12 months.


- Qatar: Fined CHF 30,000 + warning, for Team misconduct

- 3 of their players got banned for 2 matches and fined CHF 7,500 for Unsporting behaviour, and 1 of them got banned 3 matches and fined CHF 15,000.

Nekounam deserves every bit of that 6 game suspension, an asst coach cannot jump on the field like that and needs to control his emotions.

I have never seen Nekonaum celebrate that hard - not even when he was a player. As tough as it is to say this, as he's one of my favorite team players ever, but he REALLY needs to control his emotions. That outburst was uncalled for and he should have stayed on the sidelines. He needs to act as a coach and not a player.

I know he will learn from this.
