I would be extremely surprised if Haghighi is our goalkeeper next game, don't remember the last time he played a football match. Actually, he might not even be called up if he doesn't have a team by the time we have to play Syria, it wouldn't be unrealistic.

It's probably going to be either Akhbari or Mazaheri. I would personally go with Mazaheri

Interested to see how akhbari performs. Any body watch him regularly in league? Hows he Doing? He is young and has a great physique...Also I would rather see torabi instead of amiri if amiri is really in fact injured

I think given that akhbari has been part of the setup for a while and not played, i think he will be given the chance

It's a great list but I don't get why Soroush keeps on getting cut. Especially when Queiroz kept using him as a complaint when he wasn't eligible.

The only change I can see CQ making to this line up is Shojaei in center instead of Dejagah(because he has no club), unless Amiri is really injured in which case Dejagah can take that spot or Taremi.

Why do you think Ebrahimi will start when he hasn't started in any of our recent games. I would have to imagine Shojaei would start since he started in our winning game against Uzbekistan in October, and he's been in great form in the Greek league.

WTF! CQ is selecting as he does because we have injured and suspended players! Otherwise the names of at least 8 of his players are more or less written in stone. and rightly so too! You can not just change your starting eleven for every game!

I Understand why CQ didn't pick ARH for the list. He hasn't been in club for a while and it is the worst if you are in that situation as a goalkeeper.

But I really hope with this decision ARH gets his act together and finds a team this winter. He is the only standing goalkeeper with some experience in world cup tournaments. In situation such as the world cup experience sometimes outweighs difference in talent. Even though we have good prospects to be our goalkeeper, ARH has already experienced the rush and excitement so he will be much more calm and collected this second time (he also did an excellent job last world cup).

Ando has been poor in the league. Quite similar to last year, arguably even worse

True but he is still the captain, most experienced player and also has done well in his most recent TM games, I still rate him as our joint best DM with ezi. He works really well with dejagah and the forwards, he provides that brain you need in such a vital area of the pitch even if it's for the last 20-30 mins. He needs to be in the team especially in this phase of qualifiers.

Could be but I'd see Akhbari as the favorite. He's played in a bunch of TM youth teams and is in pretty solid form for TS...also the most consistent call up of the three. I would be happy to see any of the three in net honestly, I hope the most deserving one gets it. Hopefully CQ gives each of them 33-34 mins in the friendly prior to Syria

Disappointed with ando missing out, mostly due to slight lack of leadership in his absence ..! But I think for these couple of relatively easy games, CQ could afford to be a bit more experimental with his playing squad ..!
I believe omid is up for the task & pourghaz looked pretty damn solid as DM in his prior limited time cameo ..!
Nice to see young AK getting a rewarding call up for his daring euro move.
Glad ARH got cut & sosha made it instead. Sends a great message to our players.

I don't like this list, really weird, too many defensive players. 4 defensive midfielders, zero natural attacking(beside Shojaei).

It is indeed strange that he doesn't invite CAMs other than Shojaei and Dejagah! They are not very young and we don't have any experienced young replacement what so ever!
