Akhbari hanooz jooojast, CQ unlikely to start him in an official WCQ for now..! yet he has been part of the mix of late, so likely he will be given the nod vs the PNG..!
Its gonna be between Mazaheri and Sosha for Syria..! whoever looks sharper in camp, will likely snatch the starting spot vs syria..!
i dont watch IPL and havent seen any game or highlights from Mazaheri, but from the lil bit of highlights ive seen of Sosha, he seems in damn fine form ATM and having been a long time invitee, although not of late, my guess is that he will be the one who would be deputizing in goal vs syria..!
pourghaz and Kamyabinia will get some minutes in PNG, but doubtful they'll feature vs Syria..!!? unless they do exceptionally well in the PNG friendly..!!

It will be between Akhbari and Sosha and i guess Sosha will start. Mazaheri wasn't in last two camps so i doubt CQ makes him all of sudden the starting keeper.

I do not like to discuss the Team Melli players' selection. Coach can decide and should be held accountable for his decision(s).

          Best wishes to Team-e Melli.

He needs to have been with TM for a while. Unfortunately the CAM position is something we don't have a future plan for which can turn out to become our weakness!
I agree with you, but if we make the WC I don't think CQ's system will make a place for a traditional playmaker in CAM - he just seems to prefer a more defensive 3 man central midfield in the big games.

How are Shojaei or Dejagah more defensive? We need a young talent who can replace these guys!

What I'm saying is that when it comes to the world cup I doubt he'll play either of them in a CAM role. He'll more likely go back to 3 in central midfield, with Hajsafi being the one that has more license to get forward. Like in the Argentina game Dejagah and Shojaei would be given wide roles (if they start).

At this point and based on CQ's accomplishments in our TM , I will not question any of his player selection decisions

I can honestly say that for the first time ever I have %100 confidence in CQ

Queiroz's only weakpoint in his player selection is his refusal to field a true CAM/Playmaker. I don't even mind his defensive style as long as we get results, but we need a creative midfielder to link up our midfield to our attack. I'm hoping he'll give Reza Shekari the chance to be that link. Shojaei and Dejagah are not cut out for the job, though it is still way better than what we had in 2014, namely zero creativity in midfield with Nekounam, Ando and Hajsafi. I'm happy Ezatolahi is a creative player though. But in order to reach the second round in the world cup, we need a solid CAM,Ezatolahi can also be that player, but then he has to give him that role.

shekari is uber talented and impressed me when i watched all of u19s games at the AFC championshp. However his attitude is poor, and more importantly, he doesnt actually ever play for zob ahan. He needs to start getting minutes for them or some other IPL team within the next year to even be considered for TM squad let alone bench/ starting xi for WC. Ezzat is definitely more of a box to box player. Putting him at CAM would be similar to playing pogba there, he can do it but he wont be that effective there. I thought shojaeian might be in with a shout given how well he played in his first couple games for TM but now he doesnt make the squad. This is truly TM's main problem, connecting the midfield to the forward/wingers

Why is Andranik Teymourian out of the team?

He simply wasn't chosen. It has nothing to do with injury or anything. He has been out of form and playing horrible in the league, so CQ decided not to invite him.

Teymourian has had bad form. I love the guy, but he hasn't been able to keep up as well. Just look at him versus Sepahan. A half in-form Sepahan midfield was turning him left and right.
