The quote in that article actually says that the person that works for Guardian that he doesn't know if Liverpool sent anyone to watch the game:

He wouldn't just make this up. He stated clearly that Azmoun is a target for January or next summer for Klopp's staff. I don't know where you heard Andy Hunter, but he is not the one to break the story or the one to trust.
