          Inspiring? Qatar? By buying players?

Folks please stop ridiculing. Makes us look like sore losers. I didn't see many of you guys complaining and despising AFC when IFF was bizarrely picked as the best and most accomplished football federation of the year.

Plus why would you care so much about these awards? The real awards are won on the battlefield and where the real awards/trophies matter. Our youth football has failed for decades, thankfully this year for the first time after many years our youngster were able to impress and make it to 2 world cups. Let's hope they keep up the trend!

Apparently nowadays on pfdc pointing out the clear bias of afc is being "sore losers". I personally don't care about these awards, but if people want to complain about the clear bias of afc in ignoring all of Iran's achievements this year then in no way is that being a sore loser.

Keano jaan I am surprised you say this. As alipour said, why is it manly and mature to ignore obvious bias & corruption and jut accept everything? Why are we whining and sore losers when we defend our rights to earn more respect and reputation?

We actually questioned AFC for giving IFF that award; admitting that we don’t deserve it. Just like when strangely likes of Bengar were nominated for the best Asian player. So I think we are fair enough and actually just want proper nominees and winners, those who really deserve it. For example it makes you want to puke when you see Qatar winning awards or random shitty players are being chosen as the best of the continent - this makes Asia look so weak and pathetic / and gives a wrong message to those who actually deserve it and work hard for it. This is why the awards have lost their worth - I remember back then at least the player of the year had some prestige, not only in Asia. Back then football fans were excited about the "Asian Player of the Year", nowadays its a joke and you have to spent some time on Google to find out who that guy is lol.

To me the whole award rather looks ridiculous and the few awards they give to Iran to keep us quiet make no sense as well. Maybe the Futsal category is the only one they can’t take from us as we are just too damn strong for Asia - that would be too obvious and could easily expose the corruption.

                    AFC ANNUAL AWARDS 2016

I do agree with what you say Nariman jaan and I do indeed agree that AFC and it's selsectiins of award nominees have always (not just this edition) been ridiculous and undeserved, just like IFF award and as you mentioned Bengar's nomination etc.

I do agree that we're often treated unfairly in most football related cases, however we also well exaggerate things as well. We're not the only nation getting treated unfairly.

Nonetheless all I am saying is that we ought to prove our merit on the pitch and in action, not verbally and by bashing.

Let's start that by finally winning a single ACL or at least making it to the finals...

I agree that there is bias in AFC against Iran, we have witnessed this for years. But in which one of these categories did we deserve to win? Our federation don't deserve sh!t, we don't deserve AFC coach of the year either, and player is only players playing in Asia, else there is no question that the likes of Azmoun, Son etc would top the list.

This is where I disagree with you bro.: IMO it’s the opposite - we actually don’t complain enough!! Hence why nothing has changed and we keep getting treated unfairly. True that Iran is not the only victim, but I think nobody claimed that anyway. At least many other nations act and fight for their rights, but we have done close to nothing to defend us despite being treated badly for YEARS. This is what we have to change, increase our complaints, and it's kind of sad some label their compatriots as "child", "immature“ or "losers" just because they want their country to finally be treated fairly.

Yes, result on the pitch is what matters...but this is what we have done. Despite AFC and even IFF standing in our way, we have done fine to constantly perform & fight for success under bad conditions (not only in football). And we can even become greater if we manage to expose the obvious corruption - that's the actual point and goal. We can’t fully prove our merit on the pitch and reach full potential when they keep interfering to prevent that.

You named ACL as an example, but well the whole tournament is becoming a joke and exactly points out why we complain. We have seen in the past how arab teams were favored, let not even talk about their dirty actions on the field - not once, not twice... EVERY YEAR!. They pump in so much arab money to bring in random international players and coaches, while having the support of the confederation & officials as well. This makes it quite difficult for our clubs to survive, especially because of IFF as our main enemy.

I agree with most of what you said, but are we actually supposed to be mad at them for pumping money into their teams?

They are going out and getting good foreign players for their teams, which not only helps the individual team, it helps the league too. Now if we are unable or unwilling to do the same with our teams/league, then its our own fault.

I know we want to highlight our domestic talent but we need to get rid of this notion that we would win ACL if other teams couldn't buy foreigners. Ok great, good for us. We can sing about that all day long, but other teams are going to go spend money and buy good players, while the majority of the money in our league disappears to only god knows where.

We are our own worst enemy, and its time to start being honest with ourselves. Sure the AFC is a joke and hates us, but we have our own countrymen doing worse things to our football than the AFC ever has. The day we start pointing our frustrations in the right direction (which should be towards ourselves), that is the day we start the first step to success.

If we fix all the disgusting things going on in our football, then we will be so good that no amount of AFC bias can stop us in Asia.

I think some are missing the point here. Nobody is trying to blame everything on AFC; I think we all agree that our own IFF and our own fans need to be fixed in the first place. Let me simply explain the situation like that:

If you have a class test and you fail - then it’s fully your own fault and you can’t really blame others for that....

BUT if the teacher intentionally gives you a different & more difficult class test than the rest - and you fail - than probably you didn’t prepare yourself enough, but you also have the right to complain and expose the unfairness towards you...

It’s "the way" they pump in money and the ridiculous amount of it - arabs do it blindly just to buy short term success. Don’t even want to mention how much they bribe to pay their way up as the Qatar 2022 scandal should get us a taste of what is going on behind the scenes.

Buying good foreign players and especially coaches is nothing to complain about, but again point is that they do it without a clear plan and just for short term. Their focus lies on BUYING; instead of developing...more money should be spent on domestic talents for example or other important aspects to fix the roots. With all the international players/coaches many of their leagues are boring as hell, the attendance figures are poor and internationally they fail, which just goes to show that they have not spent money correctly...with Qatar being the master of all / heavily failing at the WCQ already despite having a squad full of foreign players.

btw. some of the rules are questionable as well. Keeping the ACL between two seasons gives arab teams more opportunities to quickly improve their squad buying further foreign stars. Also apparently they want to increase the foreign player limit, which is suspicious as well.

Fully agree! - this is why I labeled IFF as our MAIN enemy in my previous comment.

The point I am trying to make is that we have several "wars" to survive. We have to fight AFC at the same time, because our own fedaration is too incompetent to get us being treated fairly and stop the corruption. And even if we fix IFF, it still will be a hard time to fix AFC as well.

I think we are on the same page in principle. However, I think when you are buying foreign players, you are naturally thinking of short term (2-4 years usually). Doesn't seem too strange to me. If I am Al-Ain, I am not looking to buy Asamoah Gyan because I want him to help me win the ACL in 10 years.

I agree with the rest of your points
