Dudes, you can't just draw an arbitrary black line on a frame and decide that it was "clearly" onside or offside! One would think that would be common sense.

The fact of the matter is that there's absolutely no way to determine whether this was onside or offside from that camera angle with a single line. You have to draw multiple lines that take both parallel lines on the field and perspective into account a few frames forward and then adjust it back for this particular frame.

No one has done that and until someone does, please stop saying "clearly" one way or the other!

Worst case scenario, he was onside and the linesman made a bad call... yes, the first bad offside call in the history of mankind! The whole world must be against us.

For the love of god just get over a bad call (even if it was that) and get on with life. Bad calls happen all the time. And this wasn't even one of those goals where someone scores and then they blow the whistle!

Gucci scored several seconds after the whistle and after everyone stopped moving with the exception of their goalie making a half attempt.

FIFA and AFC and corrupt. Who are you going to complain to?
You are very self-righteous aren't you?

No one expects a complaint to overturn the result.

The frustration is because of the continuous garbage behavior by AFC and the lack of power and influence by Iran in the AFC.

How can some of you hateful pricks be on a forum DEDICATED to TEAM MELLI and talk against TEAM MELLI by writing some of the worst excuses and meaningless defences of AFC? a sub organization of one of the MOST corrupt orgs in the world, FIFA. FIFA that is based in Swiss is corrupt as fuck and you guys think AFC that is based in Malaysia and ran by Sheikhs who have a personal vendetta against Iran is fair?

And that every fucking thing that has happened to Iran by being a member of this shitty confederation through the years has been a mistake or accident and so on? get out of here. Iran left WAFF because of their abuse.

Are you stupid or just playing stupid? I sure hope it's the former, cause the latter makes you a traitor.

I'd prefer to stay in AFC and fight for our right and qualify to world cup. Instead of running away IFF needs to learn how to lobby and start spending some money like others to make sure we have a say.

Just look at this! Anyone with common sense can tell our forward is behind the line. Correct me if I'm wrong, that is a pretty accurate and straight line. It doesn't get any more OBVIOUS than this.
Shame on AFC and shame on FIFA!!
              Are you serious?

That's not even the correct image.

He hasn't even released the ball at that point.

Iranian media fooled Iranians again with the bias reporting.

Gucci (No. 16) is closer to the half than Syria No. 3.
                As simple as that.

Did anyone mention the theatrical faking of injury by the player who tackled Amiri? Didn't he have a yellow card already? Did he fool the ref by his acting? The Syrians should have been reduced to 10 men at this point.

But linemen aren't looking for proximities to halfline
They are pretty much checking out where is the last defender & the attackers in respect to the last defender @ the time the ball is played to them ..!
If I'm the lineman in that scene, then I'd be seeing Karim in line with the last defender but Reza already sneaking past him ..!
Off course, if I were the lineman, I'd also be sure to keep my flag down regardless & let the play go on..!😁

Reza is still behind the furthest back Syrian defender. He is onside.

That was a clear Two footed lounged reckless challenge that shoulda at a very least been cautioned for if not straight red card..!
@ a very least shoulda been yellowed for terrible acting ..!-
I didn't know he was already on yellow ..! If so he certainly shoulda been ejected. No ifs n buts about it.

                        @ Nokhodi
If you still seeing him in line, then bikhial

So you are frustrated in something that neither IFF or anyone has control over. Sounds dumb. The FIFA constitution gives each member country a vote. That's the problem.

If you don't expect a change in the result what do you expect to change? This is FIFA and AFC since it has been what it is. Money rules the world.

It happens. It is the referees job to call off a game.

Let's not forget, we are talking about a FIFA WCQ, not domestic Lithuanian match.

I can bring you a worse pitch for "Chooka Talesh" or other Gilani teams 20 years ago, too.
