So sad to see how our clubs can self destruct and with it take away everyone's livelihood and dignity.

Multiple seasons - Basically the summer transfer season ruins any consistency. Its tailored to East Asian teams.

High salary foreign players - I am glad PGPL teams don't do this, but alot of teams win this by wasting money on expensive non-Asians. Tournament isn't worth garbage.

Prestige - No one really considers the tournament that worthwhile.

Crowded fixture list - group stage ends up being at the same time as our league getting down to the wire, World Cup Qualifiers, hazfi cup...

Thanks, good points. A couple follow ups:

We usually don't make it to the semis anymore, we're getting punked by teams from Qatar / UAE, which do you use foreigners, but also Saudi Arabia, which I doesn't have that huge reliance on them. I wouldn't mind a trickle expensive foreigners tbh, they can elevate our players to a higher level, even if it's just leading by example. The Turkish league has improved with this sort of policy. Of course, it can be detrimental if not correctly balanced

Why might they not consider the tournament worthwhile? Then again, I can't remember anyone from the Sepahan / Zob Ahan teams who reached the final getting looks from European teams

Hossein Mahini reaction: "In the past we have won against Al Hilal and Al Rayyan with Zob Ahan. Hopefully, we will beat them again. Let us know who our third opponent is, to tell you if we have beaten them or not."

Perspolis vs. Al Hilal is the beignets match in west asia. derby character. and right now, both teams are on fire, and first place in their leagues. will be nice if this continue until the two matches.

Al Hilal, and Al Ahli are strong in the year saudi league. Al Jazira is strong in UAE.

all in all, the groups seems to be very equal, everything can happen, from place 1-4...

iranian teams traditionally starts strong in the first match, but can not improve or copy this to the following matches..
