Why does it matter Azmoun and Ezatollahi get paid 500k? Lol a lot of players start out as amateurs. Go look at Jamie Vardy's career.

The US has a different system.
    - Some people want to get their degree and then take the opportunity to go pro if it arises. I'm sure he and his family value education highly.
    - takes the proper exposure and devlopment to be able to enter the MLS draft

What is important to understand out of this is he was selected to play and travel with the u-20 U.S. national team, so giving players with bright futures like him a chance could be a good move. Using a variety of players from different perspectives and playing cultures could be beneficial to our football, just to see where the guys add up in terms of akhlagh and talent.

Second and most important he has a 1.4%(source: http://www.ncaa.org/about/resources/...onal-athletics) to go to the MLS. He is already 19 and still an amateur.
Did you guys forget Azmoun is 21 and Ezatollahi is 20. but gets paid approximately $500,000 a year (possibly)?
So you are comparing him to professional soccer players in Iran who are 19 and 20 and who have been professional since they were 14-15.
    Anyways that's my rant.

          I'll be damned.
Amir Bashti just got drafted as a 2nd pick into MLS powerhouses and 2018 MLS Cup champions Atlanta United!

I know Amir personally, we went to neighbouring high schools and he's a great guy with an amazing shot. He's just 21, speaks Farsi, played a few caps for USMNT U18 in the past. This is a big moment, MLS now has 2 Iranians playing for the 2 top teams in the league (Beitashour in LAFC).

Here's a link to his IG. and some of his highlights .

I called it 7 years ago. Everyone thought I was crazy.

I went to Sharif University. I'm a superior genetic mutation, an improvement on the existing mediocre stock.

why CQ? why not U23 coacch. If he proves himself there by 2020 he may have a chance by 2022.
That is what should have been done with Arzani. The gap between an 18 year old guy with Taremi or Azmoun is more like 10 years of experience. Azmoun had to earn his way. He was behind a question mark against Argentine.

depending on what his major is at Stanford, he may make many times more than 500k a year :-)

That’s very hypocritical man, you told me we shouldn’t go for players in the MLS... What’s made you change your mind?

I also find it insulting to TM that we should be considering a college level player over the other players in our other underage TM teams. Or other young legionaries who are playing in Europe already...
