Dumb decisions by Foolad. They have had some great foreigners play for them through out the years

I never understood why PGL teams under value their foreign players so much. It happens all the time - chago was the core of that team for the last few years and got them through some difficult times. He was above that team IMO....belonged to a club like Persepolis, Esteghlal, Sepahan or Tractor

If it means Foolad will focus on their academy to produce more players then it's actually an excellent move.. Also , don't forget that Foolad's foreign players were getting pretty old, Chago for exemple is already 34 (he might be even older in reality)

he was a good buy few years ago, but i think it is better to give someone else a chance then a 34 year old. if he was any good PP or SS would have been all over him for his services.

Foolad, compared to almost all other PPL clubs have had decent success in scouting and hiring foreign players.
Many star foreign players who made big names in PGL were hired and brought to Iran by Foolad. It's a different matter that they can't hold onto these foreigners and lose them to richer, bigger clubs.

Janvario , padovani, Bruno cesar, Nyang, chago, couple of Iraqi players who went to sepahan later forgot their names. Ala hubail? and Emad Ridha , ... to name a few.
And when you compare it to the wholesale hiring of foreigners who either fail or fade away or aren't good enough at clubs like pp & ss, you could say they've got scouting down pat ... for Iranian standards
